Disneyland closes for capacity on Friday after Christmas

How do they determine when they can start letting guests in again? Or do they just stop selling tickets permanently at like 2-3 PM for the rest of the day?

They just count the people coming and going. When it hits a certain number, they stop.

What Jeff said, that's why you have to exit through the same type of turnstiles as what are used at the entrance gates. They are all connected to a tallying system that adds and subtracts the number of guests.

I was in an elevator with a few months ago with a woman who was loudly talking on her phone to what I assume was her husband or partner. She said "I booked Disney us for Christmas,! It's going to be so awesome because it's Christmas and no one will be there! We'll have the place to ourselves!" I dislike people that talk loudly on their phones everywhere but more so in tight spaces. However the schadenfreude of knowing their rude awakening to come was totally worth it.

The only chance left for a relatively quiet day at Disney is going before/after a tropical storm or hurricane. They have gotten so effective at crowd balancing and filling in the dead spots that literally every day at Disney is busy now.

Mid-late July has always been favorable for us.m, but we are also resort and pool people, so we generally are away from the parks during the heat/peak of the day.

I don't recall the last time that Disneyland had to deal with a tropical storm or hurricane....

I think we all know he's talking about the Florida parks.

Yeah, I kind of jumped across the country on this one. I always figured that the California parks were pretty much always mobbed since they have all the locals over there. Would you feel better if I said earthquake? :)

Waffle house never closes, if they do something serious is about to go down, or has gone down.

WDW is never a ghost town, but there are definitely slower seasons. September and right after Thanksgiving tend to be pretty reasonable.
