Disneyland -vs- Magic Kingdom

Which park is better? Why? I have only been to Magic Kingdom.

Please only respond if you have been to both.
I think the whole disney complex is better in florida, but Disneyland vs. Magic Kingdom, Disneyland wins by far. First of all, Space Mountain in California is way better. Plus there is Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, a WAY better Pirates of the Caribbean, Cartoon Spin and a bigger toon town, and thunder mountain is similar in both places. Magic Kingdom just doesn't have as much stuff. However, if you add in epcot and mgm, I think the complex is better in florida.
But a WDW, we do have Alien Encounter, Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, The Timekeeper, PeopleMover thing, better Splash Mountain, Tiki Room Under New Management, Carosel of Progress, The Lion King, Hall of Presidents, better Jungle Cruise... I think it's pretty even besides Indiana Jones and Matterhorn. I don't think WDW will get either one though because of Dinosaur and Indiana Jones Stunt Show. Plus, the bobsleds are kind of out of style. But we have RnRC and TZToT at MGM...;)

Well, to me, Disneyland will always be better than Magic Kingdom because of one thing: nostalgia. Not to mention attractions like Indiana Jones and the first steel tubular coaster, the Matterhorn. It's the park that started it all. It's a magical place to be. Not that MK isn't magical, but for me there's more magic in DL than in the entire WDW complex because of it's nostalgic feeling, both in the park's history and my family history. We've been going to DL since I was a baby, back in 1975. Now, I am getting married to another Disney lover and we both go to the park as much as possible, including on our honeymoon. DL holds so much more value to me personally than WDW. I think WDW is a great complex, and really want to get back there and experience everything, but it will never come close to the whole DL experience for me. No other park in the world will ever come close to the feeling I get when I set foot underneath the tunnel and onto Main Street in the park. It's an awesome feeling. Peace. :)

You summed it up best, Coasterman J. Now I've never been to WDW, but I felt the history and importance when first walking in to DL. I don't know if I could at WDW. Without DL, we wouldn't have any of the parks and rides we do now.

I get the exact opposite feeling from you between the parks Coasterman. Read his post an change DL to WDW and WDW to DL. That's how I feel pretty much. I think WDW's Blizzard Beach waterpark and All Star Resorts have more magic by themselves than DL. But that's just me... :)

Yeah, I guess it all comes down to where you have the best time, or where you've had the best memories at. I've only got a few memories of WDW, since I haven't been since 1984, and none of them stick out in my mind. As for DL, I've got so many memories, if my brain was a computer, you could download them all and make an awesome DL pictorial souvenir book. ;) :) It's because I've grown up with the park. That's why it holds so much magic for me. I would probably feel the same way about WDW if I had grown up near that complex instead of DL. But I'm sure that if I actually visit the complex now, I'd have a lot more fun than before and more memories to mix in with DL ones. Peace. :)

Well Folks, it took me 30 years of my life before I got to DL. Living in New Zealand means many people will never get to DL let alone WDW. I suppose I am one of the lucky few to have done both!
Although I liked both, I will never EVER forget the first time I stood on Main St at DL. It was at night and Main St was lit up like a parade. I'll never forget the feelings of just being there ... like all my life was a crusade to get here and now my life was complete. It was one of the most fulfilling events in my life.
For us foreign visitors, DL is the true Magic Kingdom and look forward to taking my family there in September 2001.

X, Deja Vu and Goliath are really good value!
Which is more than I can say for the food.
