Disney will promote Mission: Space on tall buildings during football game

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Disney is planning to promote its new Mission: Space attraction at Epcot by projecting huge images on several buildings in downtown Tampa Bay, to get exposure during the "Monday Night Football" game between the Bucs and Indianapolis Colts.

Can you say, "synergy"?

I agree. I think most past attempts at cross-promoting their properties have sucked (anyone remember the Boy Meets World cast messing around at the resorts?). This one seems like a no-brainer to me.

What time does the water show start?

Seen that before on the Pepsi Center, though I don't remember what it was advertising.

Go Bucs!

I can't express just how little I care to look at that.

I'm just glad I don't live there.

Great attraction though!

I was there about 3 weeks ago and took a 'spin'. I am not at all a fan of any kind of simulators...but this one is truly worth a visit if you are in the area!

(They paid me to say that)

If Barbie is so popular...why do you have to buy her friends?

I've seen the projection a few times throughout the first half, but not advertising Disney. I've never seen anything like this and it looks pretty cool on tv, so I'd imagine it's pretty neat if you're actually there.

"What are you, a dentist? Or a hippie? Or some kind of hippie dentist?" -strong bad

There was a short 2 minute spot of Keeshawn Johnson and one other Bucs player (for some reason I can't remember who) testing the attraction and then replying that they loved it in a very set up fashion. It's a good football game so far as long as you're a Tampa Bay fan...

I bet it was cool. I could see it on TV and it looked pretty neat. I still wish Disney would have built 5 huge coasters instead of a simulator.

Colts Schmolts, GO CHEIFS!

ugh, my poor Bucs have now lost TWO games they had no right to lose....seems like the exact opposite of last year.

On the flip side, Disney is *definitely* becoming more innovative with their marketing. Sign seen on I-4 last week: "Tower of Terror, now even MORE terrifying".

We're whalers on the moon, we carry a harpoon, but there ain't no whales so we tell tall tales and sing a whaling tune...

I'm a huge Colts fan, but when I saw that 35-14 score in the 4th, I shut the game off...I'm glad they won, but damn why couldn't I have seen it? :(

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

I've seen it, I doesn't look bad so its no Eye sore to me.
