The people who run Disney Parks want to know your feelings on Star Wars. A survey is going around to select Annual Pass holders and other Disney fanatics that asks the question “How interested would you be in visiting a Star Wars themed land at the Disneyland Resort?” Obviously that doesn’t mean you should book your travel just yet, but it confirms Disney is thinking about taking its new $4 billion toy out for a ride.

Hollywood Studios at Disney World? Maybe ailing is the wrong word but it's certainly not the gem of the resort either. I think it suffers from the same problems that California Adventure did before the redesign.
Hollywood Studio's is definitely the last park on our list when we go. We usually only go for one evening and that's to eat at the Prime Time diner. There's simply not enough there to fill a whole day.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
That's weird, because I spent a lot of time there on my last trip. Part of that was staying at Beach Club, and part if it was the Christmas lights, but I found no shortage of things to do there. My only complaint was that it could really use at least two more sit-down restaurants.

Studios? There are five there, there usually is availability at one or more for same-day reservations. Several aren't all that interesting, granted, so it might not be that they need more of them so much as a re-think of an existing one or two.
Interesting. Why?
For the record, mine is Epcot: food, drink, live entertainment, and just the general vibe of World Showcase, as ersatz as it is.
Edited to add: but Studios has a lot to recommend it. I do enjoy Tower, the Tune-In Lounge is a great little bar, and the Streetmosphere at Studios might be better than any single live act anywhere else at WDW.
Because while it doesn't have the most to do, it has the things I most like to do. And yeah, I like the 'vibe' of the Studios park a lot.
Our last trip to WDW, we spent two days at just two of the parks - Epcot because it's big enough to need two days to really dig into and Studios because it's the park everyone unanimously wanted to revisit with our 'free' day at the end of the week. Without being able to (or having to) put a finger on it, it's the park we have the most fun at.
Maybe I should have specified that Studios needs "good" sit-down restaurants. Sci-Fi has crappy food, 50's Prime Time isn't much better, Mama Melrose I've never been able to get a reservation, and Brown Derby doesn't have anything appealing to me. I guess I just wish there was a decent place you could go without a lot of planning. At Epcot, there are several locations you can generally decide on same day that are pretty solid. AK isn't open late, and MK I believe just has Be Our Guest and the one at Main Street (which is also not good at all).

Without kids, Studios is probably my first choice of the WDW parks. With kids, it's second. Tower of Terror, Toy Story, the only real adult coaster down there (although I'm really not a fan of it), I think the Muppets show is still great, Star Tours, blah blah. The only thing there I really don't like is that movie ride.
I'd say the food there is adequate, sometimes good, but nothing spectacular... then again, I'd say that about all the parks minus Epcot.
Hi
We like Hollywood Studios, and it's a must-do if you want to experience E tickets like Tower of Terror, Rock and Roller, and Toy Story. However, of the Disney parks it's the one that runs the biggest risk of being compared directly to Universal, and in my opinion it comes up a little short thematically. Everything at the Disney park seems so miniature, while at Universal their Hollywood and New York streets are full scale and more authentic. Things like that.
I'm ok with the dining options at Disney Studios, though. We've had good meals at Prime Time and Brown Derby. Even the sandwich we had for lunch (dining plan) was good, and filled us up.
kpjb- the last time we went we did Muppets and it sucked. I had talked it up to my friend, who was a first time visitor, and after the show he just looked at me. I was shocked, a lot of the original 4d effects were missing and it just seemed like it was a shadow of its former self. Big disappointment. I had a sneaky feeling it might be on the way out.
The big rides are nice but the park doesn't present them well and the flow is terrible.
Speaking of flow, did you happen to be there when the Christmas lights were up last December? One night it was so crowded that they forced traffic to one direction, and I'm pretty sure the people charged with enforcing this were not happy with their assignment. I've never seen that park that busy. I think it was a Sunday night. Subsequent nights were much better.

It's better than the dopey turtle show.
Never been there for the lights but I have been stuck in the crowd after Fantasmic lets out.
I've been stuck in the crowd of ten thousand trackie wearing, backpack carrying, hair rollered, glitter faced, talkin all at once high school cheerleaders after High School Musical let out.
I'm all for a Star Wars Themed park. I think one of those motocoasters would be perfect for a jetbike themed ride. They could also have deuling wing coasters, and call it "Rebel Assault" One side is an X-wing fighter, and the other side is a Tie fighter, with flights through star wars props, and into and through the Death Star with a zero-g-roll inside it with all kinds of strobe lights to give it a crazy effect. Have it really cool, and lit up at night. They could have one of those crazy simulator rides, where you get to ride in the Falcon, and go with Hon Solo on one of his crazy flights. Visit an Ewok village, or go on R2-D2's crazy adventure. Which is just a carnival gravatron, with a little R2-D2 inside that make's all kinds of beeps and whistles as the ride revolves. Then maybe Join the force, where you are trained by Yoda to be a Jedi night in a really crazy 4 D theater. If it was Cedar Fair, you would get to ride Sand crawlers around in a cicle while guys dressed up as sand people make all kind of noise and laugh at you. LOL!!
I didn't do it! I swear!!
I'm suddenly reminded of the movie Big. Except the kid who grows up gets hired at an amusement park instead of a toy company...and then shortly thereafter gets fired. And Eizabeth Perkins doesn't really like him at all.
