Disney produces better than expected results

Though better than what the company projected, Disney's overall earnings were down 55% over the previous year's quarter, in part due to the September attacks, which affected its theme park and cruise business. Theme park attendance was off by 20% in October through December compared to the same period in 2000.

Well at least they did better than what they expected although I am sure that all that has happened with the 9-11 attacks have hurt them. Hopefully this won't hurt what they are willing to spend on new prodjects in the future.

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

Yeah, Disney was really screwed during September. They went commercial-less on ABC and thus lost ad revenues. And of course, people couldn't fly out to the parks so they lost admissions, concessions and resort rentals.

But like real rodents, the world will never be rid of Mickey Mouse:)
