Walt Disney Co., the world's largest theme-park operator, set a holiday-season attendance record at its Walt Disney World resort in Florida. A marketing campaign to promote the 50th anniversary of Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., boosted attendance throughout Disney's parks and resorts unit.

Their 50th CA fireworks show isthe single most incredible thing I've ever seen. I'm seen the current Florida show (super-lame in comparison) and lots of big city 4th of July shows, but this thing just craps over all of them!
Fantasmic at DL has a sense of 'place' that it can never have in a specially built ampitheatre. On top of that the show is tighter.
As for rides themselves, here's my personal opinions on a few
(rides with a * originated at Disneyland)
*Pirates: much much better at DL
Thunder Mountain: (opened the year before FL's, but originally conceived for WDW) slight edge to WDW
Space Mountain: Haven't ridden the redo but preferred Anaheim's anyway. The one in Tokyo is my favorite, though, as it is still white and has DL's layout.
*Splash Mtn: better at WDW, but even better in Tokyo
*Haunted Mansion: almost identical layouts, but edge given to DL for queue atmophere, the fact you walk in the front doors of the mansion, and it has actual elevators in stretch room to get patrons below the train tracks.
Right now, given the choice beterrn spending 7 days at WDW or 3 at DL....I'd choose DL. (Of course, I'd trade both those just to go back to Tokyo DL forjust a few hours!)*** This post was edited by Peabody 1/13/2006 11:31:01 AM ***
