The official Disney Parks Blog has posted a short video feature that shows how artists "age" the trains, and show some testing footage of the new ride.

Verbolten and especially DarKastle are the two biggest offenders.
I agree. First, the side of the DarKastle building should NOT be visible at all. It breaks the suspension of disbelief. Granted, at this point both the audio and video need an HD upgrade, but yes, the storyline should be better on DarKastle.
As for Verbolten, it's a fun family ride, but, boy there should at least be some more theming from the time you leave the awesome station and line till you get to the launch. Inside the building is fine (even if you clearly see you're going into an ugly building and not a dark forest), but from the exit to the bridge, again, there should be theming.
I hate that they half did it there. The queue and station? Great. The coaster? Only 1/3 is 'themed', and the darkness and backlight stuff, while it works for that park, isn't much theming.
^Yes and no. A big part of Verbolten is honoring the BBW, which many locals (ie not just us enthusiasts) hold dearly. The trip to the building follows the exact path BBW used to (and at the same speed pretty much.) From the exit to the bridge you barely have enough time from launch to to bridge to register that you are back outside and about to go over "The Rhine River Plunge Drop" that you dont need much theming.
Also what is convoluted about Verboten's theming, you are going into the "forbidden black forest" and will subsequently have to escape it, not hard to figure out.
I agree completly about Darkastle, that thing is still a mess. My biggest problem is that I should have died multiple times in that ride (the kitchen scene has knifes supposedly hitting me right between my eyes, a piano explodes in my face, I get incinerated in a fireplace, and then I plummit to my doom where I come face to face with a fountain.) Spiderman in contrast explains how I do not die with the multiple things in my face (Spidy saves me from a bomb, large objects/electricity attack the vehicle not my face, and of course a web saves me from doom on the fall.)
