Disney on hiring freeze

Walt Disney World has stopped hiring additional permanent workers, saying Wednesday that the slowing economy, terrorism threats and the possibility of war have weakened Central Florida's tourism market. No layoffs are planned at Florida's largest theme-park complex, which employs 53,500 people. Disney likely will hire temporary employees as usual for the busier summer season.

Well at least they aren't laying off.

This is probably a smart move. Save some money. I am all for it.

They have had 16 months to make labor adjustments. Its just hard to make changes quickly with 'fiscal responsibility' on 50,000+ employees.
