Take the Magic Kingdom for example, you have three rides which are basically highly themed and customized Roto-Jets: (Dumbo, AstroOrbiter, Alladin's Flying Carpets), as well as THE teacup ride. Not to mention the interactive darkride Buzz Lightyear, and the Tommorowland Speedway.
In Animal Kingdom you have Triceratops Spin, which is yet another highly themed customized Roto-Jet.
EPCOT the closest thing to a flat ride is Mission:SPACE, and you have some pseudo interactive features as you play the roll of a spacecraft crew.
Islands of Adventure has 1 Fish (a Roto-Jey Style Ride), and a teacups style ride, and the Caro-Suess-El has interactive characters.
Even the bumper cars at DIsneyquest have ineractive blaster cannons.
You add all that up, and you start to realive that people love to be in control of the ride in some small way. How else do you explain one chain being able to put 4 of the same ride in its parks, albeit with a different theme for each one.
