Disney moving forward with third park in SoCal

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Disney has started the planning process for their third park in Anaheim, following the recent opening of Disney's California Adventure. Disney says they're not sure what they will build. Local residents fear that Disney is getting a "fast track."

Yeah, what is Disney Sea. I've heard the name, but i don't know what it is exactly. Is it a Sea World/Busch Gardens type park?

Why would they build a water park when Cedar Fairs Soak City is right down the street.
build something like
IOA!!!!!
IOA!!!!
IOA!!!
IOA!!
IOA!
I'm lost........whats a disney sea
TDS looks to be the absolute most amazing, technically advanced themed park ever built. Probably will blow away IOA and WB Movieworld/Spain. Opens September 4th, check out the contruction updates:

As far as waterpark again, if the DLR had 43 square miles of land to build on like they do in Florida, heck, they could build 10 waterparks for all I care. But this is the last piece of open land for the DLR, with a dozen waterparks already in SoCal, I'd hate to see them waste this valuable piece of land on just a waterpark, when we have the potential to possibly get a IOA or TDS caliber park.

I'm sorry, I don't see that happening anytime soon
Draco is right. Tokyo DisneySea is an astoundingly beautiful park. Every inch is heavily detailed and themed with wonderful and distinct "lands." The premiere attractions include: Journey to the Center of the Earth (Jules Verne style vehicle racing through a volcano), Indiana Jones, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (NOT the Disneyland version--but with suspended subs and no water), and Sinbad's Seven Voyages (like Pirates), and StormChaser (like DCA's Soarin' Over California but your adventure goes horribly wrong in the tradition of Star Tours). It will be an incredible experience that will take us to other worlds. (Loved DCA--loads of fun--but that's its problem--everything in it is as common as a house fly--nothing takes me a way to a different time and place like DL.)

Yeah CBB, I should have probably said IMO, it looks like it'll blow away IOA, for the exact reasons you stated. Although it won't have any coasters, it will have what, 5 or 6 Spiderman/Indian Jones type motion thrill ride adventures. For those only into coasters, the place probably won't interest them. But combine state of the art thrill ride technology with incredible over the top out of this world theming, and you definitely got my attention.

As awesome as IOA is, I don't think anything at IOA can compare to the elaborate, unbelievable heavy theming going into that park and on every ride, just looks absolutely incredible already, and they're not even finished yet!

For a peak at just what kind of thrills are in store, besides the only other Indiana Jones Adventure on the planet, go here and scroll down and download the MPEG videos of the car from Journey To The Center of The Earth plunging down the side of the volcano. That alone makes me want to book a flight to Tokyo in September!

Draco, have you ever been to IOA? If you have, then I respect youre opinion, but if not, then....You can't experience a park through pictures.
Cleo tells me that it won't be a water park, why to I have the feeling Miss Cleo is right for a change? Can it be because there are only a flipin MILLION water parks there in Cali allready. What if Disney Land starts going the DW route and throws in an Epcot or MGM or something...

Good God if Disney builds a California DisneySea, I will run around my house screaming in ecstacy, and then order hotel reservations and plane tickets...
