This is for those that don't know. Cedar Fair, L.P. had originally intended Knott's Supreme Scream to be a slightly taller version of sister park's Power Tower - Four legs, two Space Shot, two Turbo Drop. But Walt Disney Co.'s planning of Disney's California Adventure was the roadbump that cut down the design to an all Turbo Drop with three tower legs. Grrrr. And Mali-Boomer is TINY.

Since Jeff made Track Record a "perk" for CB members i'll just post my count here: Coasters:99 Parks:14
Supreme Scream opened July 1998.
Mali-Boomer opened with DCA in February 2001. So yes, DCA did have a kick in "reserving" the Space Shot ride during the planning phase.

No. Disney reserved the Space Shot ride only. Thus, Knott's could only negotiate for the Turbo Drop ride. Knott's was the park that wanted the four towers : two Space Shots, two Turbo Drops.
Just think of a 312' version of CP's Power Tower. That's would Supreme Scream WOULD HAVE been if not for Disney.

Interesting news, but DCA should have a drop ride in a couple years that tourists will say make tourists say "Supreme What?" Then DCA will have both their space shot and a great "turbo" drop(s)!
Turbo Drops blow the Space Shots out of the water.
It doesn't matter how tall it is. I even prefer small drop rides like SFKK's Hellevater to most Space Shots. Of course, Disney has Tower of Terror, and although not as tall as Supreme Scream, it's a mighty fine ride, thanks to it's wonderful theaming.
