Disney in Philly...

Probably about 5-10 years ago (me being pretty young and not understanding any details) there was a rumor going around that Disney would build some sort of park or entertainment center in the old Philadelphia ship yard (I'm not talking about Disney Quest which was planned, but was scrapped).  Then the ship yard opened up again and that was that.  Does any one know if this was true or what was going to be built?

I can verify this story, about a month ago a man who worked as a politician in Philly visited my school. One of his antecdotes involved in his speech was about Disney buying a huge portion of land to build some sort of entertainment facility(Most likely a DisneyQuest). the site was supposively going to be for public housing but instead these local politicians opted to have Disney buy the land. It ended up that disney just dug a large hole but never constructed anything. Quite dissapointing and very detrimental to the city of Philly as the housing was sorely needed.  An Interesting and true story of local politics and big corporations.

Actually now that Chicago's DisneyQuest has closed its doors, its probably a good thing that they didnt construct anything in Philadelphia.
