From the blog post:
Today, the Walt Disney Company is announcing a $1 million cash commitment to the OneOrlando Fund, established by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to assist those affected by the tragic events in Orlando. Also, eligible donations from Disney employees will be matched dollar for dollar by Disney Employee Matching Gifts: A Program of The Walt Disney Company Foundation.

I read an open letter today from a Sandy Hook mom to the people of Orlando and in addition to her heartfelt sympathies cautioned about donations. She specifically mentioned large corporate charities, like UW, that in spite of huge amounts donated trickled very little money to the victims themselves.
It's awesome that Mayor Dyer is doing this and that Disney has stepped up.
Is he? I don't know anything about him, but I certainly saw a lot of him on the news this week and he seemed ok. I can't imagine being suddenly thrown into the tragic spotlight like that.
I read today that a Go Fund Me page set up for the victims had raised $1.9m....at that point...a record for the site.

It's well over that... $3 million now I think.

Is he?
Well, yes, his name is Buddy. Sorry, thought that joke was obvious. :)
