Disney buys the muppets

Could there be more news surrounding disney?

Anyway, it looks like Disney has bought the rights to the muppets. This will allow them - among tv and merchandise opportunities - to possibly update muppetvision 3d with a new movie. (That is pure speculation)

Actually, the sesame street characters are not included because they are owned by the the Sesame Workshop.

Now I like that Barbie idea, Danny. I'd rather have them change the Alien Encounter to her than Stitch. I like the idea of Barbie kissing the back of my neck rather than some big nasty alien. ;)

I believe that Busch has the rights to the Sesame Street characters.

Didn't PKI drop the Barbie's Dreamhouse idea when they had it?

I like how the news surrounding this states that it had nothing at all to do with the Comcast situation! I suppose its just a coincidence that this happened a week after that news broke, instead of at any point during the past 15 years?

I find it funny that Disney went back and purchased the Muppets after they lost the auction for the Jim Henson Company a few months back.

Anyway, I think that this is good as a whole because the Muppet characters and Disney should make a very interesting combination, just as Muppet Vision 3D and Muppet Treasure Island have proven that they can be. Maybe will see a Muppet Vision update as well!

You know the funny thing about Barbie is she is single now. I read in the NYTimes on Monday that she and Ken broke up. SO -- those of you that are hot for her. ;)

Barbie Encounter does have a certain ring to it.
