Disney and Universal adapt themes for foreign markets

As American theme-park operators and contractors move into foreign markets, they often find that what passes for classic family entertainment here doesn't work elsewhere. Differences in language, customs, social values, humor, legends and interests force companies to develop variations on their themes.

That was a really interesting article. I wonder how much input was actually given by locals or if they hired foregin Imagineers or experts to help out with the design, or if they just did their research on the culture.
