Disney adds executive committee to theme park unit

Walt Disney Co's theme parks unit on Monday said it was reorganizing to create an eight-member executive committee that would develop strategy and report to parks chief Jay Rasulo. The new parks structure is aimed at letting the group rapidly roll out new projects and increase consistency of business practices throughout the unit.

At first glance it sounds like a bunch of corporate b.s. but after reading the article, it makes a heck of a lot of sense. It's no secret that Iger isn't really a "theme parks" guy, so letting the "theme parks" people in the company handle that sounds like a great idea. Sounds like the complete opposite of the Eisner's micromanaging ways and perhaps that is just what the theme parks division needs.
