Discover Magazine (June 2001)

The June issue of Discover magazine has an in-depth article on some of the health risks of riding coasters, how the human body can withstand G-forces and for how long, that sort of thing. It talks a lot about Millennium Force, and how the coaster can go so high/fast without greater negative effects on the body - how the track is designed with the overbanked turns. Quite interesting, especially the statistics of how very unlikely it is to get hurt/killed on a coaster! I highly recommend it! (Starts on p. 26-7) There are a couple of pics of MF too, but nothing we haven't seen before.

The Bigger They Are, The Harder They Fall!
Well, you beat me to it CrystalKat, I was about to post something about that. The article was excellent, it finally gave a scientific view to coasters. By the way, are there any other Discover subscribers out there, if not sign up because it is a great magazine.
