Discover Channel Shows this year!

Was anyone else dissapointed with the lack of new coaster shows this year? I mean, they usually have 2 or 3 new coaster shows. But this year they showed re-runs, which were cool, don't get me wrong, but they only had one new show!

The Future Raging Bull Op!

I'll agree with you on this. I got bored with the shows and started watching other stuff only to flip back occasionally at the start of each show to check if it was new or a re-run. Whatever happened to that show they filmed at PKI when they had the shoot on TR, DZ, and SOB?

Those rides were filmed for the Travel Channel... not Discovery.

The show with Drop Zone and SOB aired today on the Travel Channel, but the footage of TR:TR has yet to be shown.

Proud A-lister!

Travel Channels shows are a whole lot better than Discovery Channel. This years Discovery Channels line up was all about Superman Escape and how it was the tallest and fastest coaster.
Those shows usually get the highest ratings of either channel. I did enjoy the theme park contest show where teams were pitted against each other in 6 challenges at Six Flags MM. It was the first time I had seen that show.
I liked the building and designing episode since thats what I am realy looking forward to doing for a living, but no guarentees

I was really hoping for Extreme Rides 2003 but i guess they didn't film that show. I was kind of getting tired of seeing Magic Mountain the whole night. Even though it is a good park, i have seen enough of Goliath and Superman.

Shaggy,

I dont think the show with SOB and Drop Zone aired today. If I'm wrong, when did it or when will it?

I feel the same way SFGAm-Camp Cartoon Op. It's like Magic Mountain is the only park in the world they can go to. I am too tired of seeing Magic Mountain on all the time. I think it's time that they go somewhere else. What about Cedar Point, SF Great Adventure or some other park that never gets mentioned on these shows. Have a show about them and maybe it will be more interesting.
I was very disappointed with the reruns, but the "Thrill Rides Put to the Test" was great. If only there was some new shows to back it up. Maybe they didn't finish them in time? Or they just didn't even attempt to make some new ones? I don't know :(

Can somebody fill me in. I was working and missed all the Discovery Shows. Was there a new Extreme Rides 2003?

Coaster Ken, there have been PLENTY of specials featuring Cedar Point, watch those re-runs.

Also, Discovery Chanel and Travel Chanel are all under the whole Discovery Chanel umbrella, owned by the same company. Sometimes something that was taped by Discovery will air on Travel and vice versa.

All evening on the 26th, DC was touting Extreme Rides 2003, but they played Extreme Rides 2000. I have a feeling ER 2003 may not have been finished or they were having problems with it and they pulled it at the last minute. I'd be willing to bet that ER 2003 will be aired sometime in the near future. Travel Chanel will have Theme Park Road Trip airing this week, I think that one is new for 2003?

SCREAM with me... in 2003!

Extreme Rides 2003 will air later this year. They ar going to try to get this years extreme rides on the show.

CoasterFile, you are right, they are either airing it within the next couple weeks, or they are going to continue their plans and air Top Ten and Extreme rides at the end of the season, so that the dates are correct...(like what the heck, TTD a 2004 "Extreme Ride"?)

Yeah, that Superman The Escape was really ridiculous to show. I can't tell you how many times I've seen the footage looking out toward Colossos (sp?) and Goliath isn't there, and they have the same three people in the front with the dark haired person in the middle and her hair all over her face.

On another topic, I was also disappointed not to see more of Paul Ruben ;)
