Discount admission to Cedarpoint with soda cans??

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be some kind of coke or pepsi promotion where you bring a can to the park and you can buy one ticket and get one free? I went to Cedarpoint last year on opening day and we found a 12 pack of coke at a grocery store near the park and we used the cans to buy one ticket and get one free. I was curious to know if anyone has heard of a similar promotion this year? I am planning on going to Cedarpoint on May 18 and I go to college near Dayton Ohio so I'm not sure if the grocery stores near Cedarpoint are selling the cans this year. If anyone has any information on this please let me know as this would be really helpful in saving us some money. Thanks a lot.

Why don't you just call the park? That's what I did with Carowinds this weekend, and they told me two businesses that had discount coupons (BiLo and Taco Bell by the way).

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.

I've seen the cans on eBay for this year. I haven't seen them out in stores and such yet, but I know they're there.

Force Laps: 424
Wicked Twists: ???
VertiGo Shots: 32

The Michigan and Ohio area. But I have not seen any in the stores yet. Meijer is the store that I usually see them in.

Last year if I remember correctly Valleyfair did the same thing. What they did was you could bring in any type of Mountian Dew or pepsi cans and get $5.00 off regular admission. Not sure if there going to do it this year.

I heard a CP commercial on WKNR (Sports Radio 1220 AM in Cleveland) and they mentioned the Pepsi can discount. It will supposedly be good for a $13 discount in May and a $10 discount in June. If I recall correctly, last season the cans were not valid on Saturdays.

ProgRay

That is correct, ProgRay. I called the park this morning and they verified that information. They said on Pepsi and Mt. Dew cans, and the cans were supposed to be available April 15th, so...

I hate the pop/soda thing because when you go to another state when you say pop they look at you like your a moron.

Same thing if you say soda in Missouri anywhere else but St. Louis you'll be looked at like a moron. :)

GO CARDINALS!!!

Thanks guys for all the info. I also enjoyed the pop/soda comments. I go to school in ohio, but I'm from Philadelphia so I say soda and everyone here who is from Ohio says pop. We've had a lot of humorous conversations over which one is correct. Anyways, if I do remember correctly last year we bought the cans and used them to get a "buy one get one free" ticket. We also went on opening day last year which I believe was a Saturday and the cans really helped us to save a lot of money. While we were waiting in line to buy our tickets we looked around and noticed that not many other people had the cans. I'm just hoping that they are going to do the same type of promotion this year and hopefully we'll be able to find the cans. If anyone finds out an exact store that is selling the cans if you could please let me know I'd really appreciate it. I remember calling the park last year before we went and they weren't very helpful as to telling us if they even were having the promotion and where to get the cans so that is why I was hesitant to call the park again this year. Thanks a lot for the help.

I saw an ad for WT on a Mountain Dew can but I couldn't get close enough(someone else in the cafeteria was drinking it and I was on the other side and down a little bit) to see if it was a discount.

When it was invented, the drink was originally called "soda pop". Some areas of the country shortened it to soda, some shortened it to pop.

Thankfully, I don't need discount cans because I've already got my season pass.

I got a Pepsi from a machine in school the other day, and I did see the discount. It was $13 off in May and $10 off in June if I rember correctly. I'm not sure if its good on Saturdays though. You could always stop at Tops or Meijer before going to CP and get discount tickets there.

My 2 cents on the whole Soda/Pop thing: It could be worse. In the south it's just called a coke. You only specify the actual brand when ordering it. A typical converation at work:

"Hey, would you get me a coke?"

"Sure, what do you want?"

"Hmmm. A Dr. Pepper."

Strange but true...

Oh that's TEJAS! I loved it when I was down there. They would ask you if you wanted a Coke, and I would be yeah sure, and they would go "what type," and I was like um there's more than one flavor of Coke. LOL!
