Disappointing trip to PKI 5/28

I chaperoned a middle school trip to PKI yesterday and was I dissapointed! The last time I was there was 7 years ago. We were in the park around 10:15 and we headed straight for the Beast where we had a short 15 minute wait. The ride was great, although it didn't seem as exciting as I remembered it.

Next we hit Flight of Fear. Our wait was around 30 minutes for this one. I didn't have too high of expectations for this. I was having flashbacks to Disaster Transport at CP. But I was surprised! It was a lot of fun and I left the ride feeling totally disoriented and dizzy.

After lunch we hit the Racer, which had around a 20 minute wait. I was very dissapointed in this one! It looked like it would be fun, but it was soooo painful I didn't enjoy any of it. The whole ride was really rough and shaky. We then rode the Dodge Ems for old times sake.

Next up was Vortex, with a short 20 minute wait. It looked like it would be fun, and I think it would have been fun if it wasn't so jerky and if my ears hadn't been bashed to pieces. My left ear still hurts today and I couldn't sleep on it last night. My husband was tall enough not to experience the head bashing.

After our 1 hour of chaperone duty we headed for SOB. I was really excited to ride it. It was fast! Although I thought the layout was a little boring and I didn't get any airtime. :( After that it started raining and it was nearing time to go. We decided that we wouldn't make the effort to come back (unless maybe a free chaperone duty again). We didn't see 1 employee smiling the whole day! I was thoroughly disappointed and can't wait for our trip to CP in 3 weeks!

Sorry to hear you didn't have a very good time :( Maybe the Park was having an "off day".

When I am there the employees always seem to be in a Great mood, even asking us how our day is going and so on. As for the rides, I say try them again. Each time the riding experience can be so different. There are several rides that I said I wasn't going to go on again, but after giving them another try I love them.

If you have the chance to go back don't pass it up, it could be a complete turn around when/if you go again. This Season was my 1st time back in 16 years and WoW, I sure was surprised/impressed!! PKI is now my Favorite Park and I have already been there multiple times this year (and it's a 4 hour drive.)

Too bad you missed out on alot of the rides, Great TR! Give it another chance!

PKI is right up there with CP as far as teh best park in the country, it just sounds like to me you were maybe predispositioned against it. Give it another shot. I think I love it there more then CP even, the only reason CP wins out is because I have been going there every year since I was six. You missed some of the best rides if that is all ya hit.
