Monstrous roars are echoing at Cedar Point as the summertime scream park invites guests to come face to face with dinosaurs. The new 2012 attraction -- "Dinosaurs Alive" -- which is currently under construction on Adventure Island near Millennium Force, features more than 50 animatronic dinosaurs.

What audience do you think it would suit? Rather, what environment would it fit better than an amusement park?
Probably a museum-type situation.
Exactly I could see something like that going over very well at a museum or zoo. Or I could even see it going over really well in the new Dinosaurs Alive attractions. When you enter these attractions you are already entering a state of disbelief, and would fit in with the idea the Dino's are alive and moving.

Maybe someone will flick a cigarette at one from the smoking area and set it ablaze - that would make the ride on MForce more interesting.
Perhaps ironically, this attraction is cropping up at quite a few zoos in the UK.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
Maybe I'm missing something. But, how is it ironic that they are cropping up in the UK?

It's like rain on your wedding day, Jason. Isn't it ironic, doncha think?
Having worked in Jurassic Park in the park's infancy, I can attest to how seriously we were expected to take the reality of the dinosaurs. I would be chasing packs of It was quite fun actually.
About this Cedar Point dino attraction, the location under Millennium Force looks all wrong.

If I wrote for the Sandusky Register I would be in writer-purgatory waiting for this ride to be taken down- just so I incorporate some variation of Dinosaurs Go Extinct or Dinosaurs Wiped Off The Face Of Cedar Point as a headline. The attraction replacing it would could be themed to what wipes them out. Intamin Drop Tower would make a perfect asteroid for this purpose (if it weren't for the S&S Towers already there). A Dive Machine that drops underground? Not sure how deep it could go, but if digging deep isn't possible, there's always what Heide Park did to their dive machine)-

-Instead of an octopus, theme it to an impact crater from the asteroid.

Brian's last post is true. Isn't that ironic? ;)
(Maybe I should have included a winkieface in my last post.)

I think Travis blamed her too, just in a more subtle way.
Subtlety is as overrated as reading Travis' posts. :)
Don't go to the dark side, Travis! They lied about the cookies and they will say or do anything to get you there!

There are two ways to take that, of course...
Who knows, maybe this is just elaborate theming for Cedar Points new flying coaster. Imagine flying on a B&M just beyond the reach of the jaws of the T-Rex, skimming over the branchiosaurus, reaching out and touching the lagoon water, and chasing the raptors all from "Escape from Dino Land". (OK, maybe not...)
