Different inversions possible on woodies?

Do you think since SOB has a loop, newer wooden coaster will have loops and different inversions like on steel? Although to get the speed it would be huge and very rough. Anyone think it will become done in the future? I think it probably will one day, but like with SOB, some love it and some hate it because of it's roughness and/or intensity.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Inversions aren't for wooden coasters. When I get on a wooden coaster I either want it's style to be Twister or to be out-and-back, I want no inversions, none.

Have you ridden SOB? According to your track record, no. Please don't try to judge before you ride.

I, too, thought woodies with loops seemed like a silly idea, but after riding SOB, I think it fits the ride perfectly. In fact, it's probably the best part of the ride. Time seems to stand still up there...

When I was riding SoB, I was having a GREAT ride, all the track before the loop even came was great. I actually forgot it had the loop until we went into it because it was a great ride by itself! I agree with Corbin and Lynch, inversions are for steel coasters, we have to keep that wooden "feel" to the upcoming coasters. Geez, in a couple years I don't want to see a wooden coaster with 5 loops, that's for sure.....what's the point of calling it "wooden" then?
Ok whoops, read it wrong, I agree with Corbin.
If it's made of wood, it's wooden.  Trying to hold back innovation isn't productive.  Why do all wooden rollercoasters have to be so similiar?  Let's see some more creative designs like Son of Beast, Collosos, and Boulderdash.
they could do any kind of inversion casue the inversion are made of steel.

inversions ruin the expirience a woody is saposed to have
NO MORE INVERSIONS ON WOODIES!!!!

building other inversions i think is impossible. the loop is just you a know just kinda makeing a circle. but something like a corkscrew would be hard. think about it. i mean on a corkscrew id be very very rough becuz thats takleing a sharp turn. and the track would have to be very long for that. also it would most definatley cost money

there's no Bible of Coasterology.  Nothing exists that says..  no loops on wooden coasters.  They just haven't had the innovation and technology.

You guys are acting like every company is in the hunt to add inversions like this is 1980 US vs. Russia to develop the most nuclear weapons.

Don't ride them if you don't like inversions.  But if you stand out in the pouring rain with picket signs and boycott parks cause they have a woodie with a loop, then you have more problems than that is my guess.

Standard out and backs and twisters will never cease to exist.  Relax already.

I rode "X" and never went upside down.

I think with this innovation, anything is possible. The cars themselves already have upstops, but if a corkscrew would be thrown in there, side running wheels would be needed. Theres still a lot of work to be done, but with time, we will have a corkscrew on a woodie.

I haven't been on SoB but when I think of going on it, I think of the 200 ft. drop that stands out.  To me, a loop on a ride that is not supposed to have one on it doesn't stand out.  For example, when I read an old review for the SoB, I forgot that their was even a loop in it.  I too think that wooden rides weren't ment to have any type on upside-down inversions on them.

They can make a corkscrew, boomerang, or a cobra roll just like they made the loop.  Guys the inversions are made of steel, if any thing they would have to mess around with the trains thats all.

I dont care if they make more inversions, just as long as they still make ones without.
no see it would be hard to make the trains twist. they might have to go with 2 people a CAR and like 10 cars or sumthing. and the track will be very very differant then a normal woodie

Ride the Impssible. STAND UP WOODIE!!! watch it fly past ur regular sitdowns. itll blow you away.

There are already non-looping, wooden coasters that feature trains with two people per car. Go ride Lightning Racer or Roar West for proof. ;)

Why do so many people like inversions if a coaster has 4 loops people think its the best there if a coaster is 260ft. has 8 huge drops and mad air time it should be the best shouldnt it?

One word NITRO.
the backbone is steel, but the track is wooden, Coastersarus. Its not all steel.
