Did Six Flags buy a park in Washington?

I don't know if I imagined this or if its real but didn't Six Flags buy a park call "______ Gardens." Can somebody conferm this. I would search in the park section of the site but my computer is messed up everytime I try to go to that section so can someone tell me if its true. If it is true what are they planning to do to expand the park. If its true and they are dear god don't let them built a SLC or Boomerang.
They bought a park called Enchanted Village in Federal Way WA (near Seattle-Tacoma area). There are rumors of a Wooden coaster being installed soon. Here isSF's link to them. http://www.sixflags.com/parks/enchantedvillage/home.asp

i was recently in washington and saw the park between tacoma and seattle. There looks to be a decent steel looper there, but very little room for additions, unless surrounding land is owned as well. Six Flags lists this park as part of the SIx Flags FAMILY, but it isnt considered a SIX Flags PARK. They  will probably make a desicion as to how much $$$ they want to put into it, and whether or not they can convert this small park into a top-notch regional park. Wester US has nothing aside from L.A. ,San Fran, Texas, and Den. The Northwest could definately use a park. Seattle has quite a bit of rain during Winter, but summers are very mild and dry. I've been there 2 out of the past 3 summers and it is amazing in Seattle!!!!

Yes, Six Flags did indeed buy into Enchanted Village/Wild Waves for their empire.  The buzz is that the park will begin to develop over the next 18 months, and add 2 additional coasters.  One woodie (possibly a GCI-I am personally hoping for a CCI though), and one steel (perhaps a small B&M).  The talk, although loaded to the gills with speculation, is for the park to become a major Six Flags operation.  There is nothing even close to compete with.  The closest parks are Oaks in Portland, and Silverwood 5 hours away in Northern Idaho.  We are finally seeing some action up here, whatwith the new SF park, the Great Northwest Theme park, and Space World (at least it is being legislated...) in a small town south of Olympia.
LoadedG, there is a TON of room behind the park, as it is all owned by the park/SF, so no issue for expansion, and boy, do I mean TONS of acreage.  We shall see, though.

Nasai, I heard somewhere that The Great Northwest Theme Park was cancelled. Was I misinformed?

I thought I saw a park once called Six Flags Washington DC. I must be thinking of SFA.

G.Bush:We will find those who did it, smoke them out of their holes, get them running, and bring them to justice.
I pray that I will never see a Six Flags Conneaut Lake
Washington the state, not Washington the city.  As of now I think they only have a Arrow Corkscrew.  Never rode it, but I passed by several times.  They could definately tap an untouched market up in the NW.  Oak's in Portland is very small and only has a Pinfarri Looping Star and a kiddie.  There are also two parks south of Salem Oregon with a very limited selection of thrill rides.  I hope SF works wonders with this park.

Well, from what I have heard (which isn't much) the theme park is still on, as it were.  Go to http://www.thegreatnorthwest.com/ and you can see there is no additional information, but then again, there never usually is.  I don't have any answers, I am afraid.

Hey, as long as Enchanted Village doesn't take out any of their old rides! That's the only place that I've been on an OLD Herschel Looper, one of my favorite flat rides!

Nasai, great to hear that the surrounding land is indeed part of the plan. I have a friend who works at Microsoft, so we take vacations up there to see him. Hopefully I'll have a legitimate six flags park to visit when we go. If I dont move there myself. Living in Phoenix, I PRAY for rainy days and mild summer temps.

Yeah, summer is glorious up here in the NW.  About the only reason to stay, it seems, although I admit to being a romantic for rain....I was born here, after all.
