I didn't make $100,000 on POP Forums, I made it by selling the popworld.com domain name. It subsequently went toward lots of taxes, paying off my car, getting my ass out of debt, paying for my wedding and honeymoon and acting as a down payment for my house.
When you grow up you'll understand that's not a lot of money, son. It's not easy paying a mortgage on unemployment.

I really happy that SFWOA is getting it's act together this year.
As Jeff has said, the damage is done:
I chaperoned a church group of 35 high school and college age kids there last year. We spent two days and the kids were disgusted. (I kept my mouth shut) They constantly said how some of the rides were good, but the park "sucked ____". On the bus out of the park, a group of the kids even asked if we could go to CP next year! The voted to never go back.
I'm glad they are doing a lot better this year, but there's an example of the damage done. Even with me keeping my dumb enthusiast mouth shut, the kids (13-20 something years) voted to not go back again. They went to CP this year, and are going back next year.
Me personally, I will visit SFWOA next year to ride their hyper, but I'm personally more excited about what CP is putting in (No, I don't know anything really, but my friend in the park office (not the Dippin Dots guy ) has dropped a few hints....the sign on the dodgem wall confirmed everything....I can't wait for the announcement later this season!)

Funny you should mention that. My volleyball kids all had similar feelings about the park, and you can be I had no influence on that (I don't talk to them about coasters... they'll think I'm a dork). I don't have to tell you where everyone had their after-prom trips.

Lord..I agree with you..even though they left a REAl bad taste in my mouth..my hubby wants to give them another chance..
"
SFWoA is a much better park if you don't go there every other day. It seems alot of the negative reviews come from the people who get too much of the park."
Um..Nate..I have only been there once and I wouldn't go back..but the hubby insists on riding X-Flight.
When we went in 2000, these were our complaints:
1-Serial Thriller was closed...it was running one train when we came into the park at 11am and when we went over at around 12, it broke down and they closed it the rest of the day
2-Villain was closed...I believe that was their opening year for it and still ironing the problems out
3-S:UE broke down then we waited 2 hours for it
4-RWB- One Train
5-No Mind Eraser
6-No Time Warp
The bathrooms were completely filthy, no ice at their drink stands and LINE JUMPERS galore!
We stood in line for BKF for 1 1/2 hours and 10 people jumped in front of us..no one said anything.
then the same people decided to light up some smokes and blow the smoke in our faces..I thought my hubby would seriously punch one out.
Sea World was great though..we had an excellent time..so I hope they still maintain the animals as well as Busch did.
But the park..well, if it didn't get any better then they'll be hearing from their fave person once again!
CoasterMom- That was your experience in 2000. While I agree the first impression may matter the most, it's sometimes best to give a park another chance every couple of years.
2002 has brought on many customer service and other upgrades than in past years.

Well, let us hope :)
All SF parks that I have been to haven't been pleasant, but SFWOA I'm willing to try again..
Well, I don't know about how they're going to be in the rest of the season.
As you know they have reduced their hours to 10-9 on weekdays and cut many employee's hours. They also have many shops and food stands, sometimes even rides closed because they are lacking the staff.

To me, X-Flight and Phantom's Revenge are too different to compare... Of course, if you're just talking about your enjoyment, that doesn't really matter, does it...
I rode Phantom's Revenge the day after X-Flight and thats why I compared them. Just how some people make a top ten list, even though they are so different, I liked them alomst equally. My top 5 for that trip:
1.) MF 2.)Magnum XL-200 3.) Phantom's Revenge 4.)X-Flight 5.) The Villian
I hope that clears it up a little!

The Beast and Night, They go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly
Well being that I enjoy SFWOA's coaster line up MUCH more than Cedar Point's(even without the hyper), and find the park to be more beautiful(especially the wild-life side), if they can indeed improve their operations, I'll feel no need to really go back to the over-crowded, often steril CP for awhile.
The damage may have been done for some, but there was always enough good in that park for me.
