Diagonal Paths (and other stuff)

I seem to remember a thread that still questioned the whole diagonal path thing in RCT3.

Looks like a diagonal path in the lower left part of this screenshot.

Safe to say there will be diagonal paths in RCT3?

looks more like a "block" path that just goes down a hill to me ...

Didn't "we" have this same conversation about RCT 2 screen shots?

OK, how about this?

We knew they did away with the silly entrance and exit buildings from some of the other screenshots.

Looks like there is still a little booth at the entrance - as seen in this shot of the observation tower - and they even appear to be manned with an employee!

Or am I wrong again?

And what about the crowd in that first screenshot?

Perhaps it depends on whether or not you charge per-attraction or POP for the park.

From what i could tell, there is always a booth or something at the entrance to each ride. There is also a set of swinging doors at each exit. It looks like the entrance and exit will still occupy a full square each, but they won't be those bulky buildings anymore.

Hey, I'm happy with a little booth and a swinging gate that both take up a square. It was those little buildings that drove me nuts.

I could over look them (sort of) on coasters, log flumes, etc (anything that has a long station)... but they really looked silly on things like swinging ships... especially inverting swinging ships... where they basically hid the ride.

1,000 guests thinking "It's too crowded here."

Yeah, big booths, especially the exits always were a peeve of mine. Why the hell would you need a big building just for an exit?

Jeff may be on to something... maybe there are manned booths when you charge a price.

Maybe there will also be exit booths when you sell on-ride photos.

those 1,000 guests thinking "It's too crowded here."

Which line at SF Great Adventure on August 17 was that?

a) Guest Services

b) to part with yet more money to buy a qbot

c) at one of the few coasters operating that day

d) any of the above... take your pick

And another little pet peeve of mine...

An option to switch on or off the "theming" of the food stalls. Sometimes I would like to palce a hamburger stand that looks like a little square building... not a giant hamburger.

And one more thing... GAMES. There are no booths for games. (my work around... I usually plop in a souvineer stand or plush toy stand etc to take the place of a game stand)

But enough of this complaining... just a bad attitude I guess. Oh well... back to pulling the wings off flies... *** Edited 9/21/2004 8:47:15 PM UTC by SLFAKE***

Anyone catch this screen with shows what seems to be the coaster construction interface along the bottom of the screen. Anyone care to make guesses as to some of the features.

Looks like you can now bank the track a full 360 degrees in 45 degree increments.

Did we establish that one already?

Looks like it, and those up and down arrows at the bottom affect the roll of the car for 4-D rides (which it seems is the type of ride under construction).

The interface looks like they are trying to mimic the XP style. I wonder if there will be a possibility of downloading skins or themes for these toolbars. That would be cool.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

The double red arrow (kind of like a fast forward button) looks like it may be either a booster option, or the auto-complete feature..
(just a guess of course).

Thanks, SLFAKE, for bringin' me down.

Just when I thought everything with RCT3 was going okay, you had to remind me.

Is it that hard to make a stall that's a dart throwing game, or skeeball? How about a 3x3 building that's an arcade? You don't even have to see the animation, they can just wander inside like they do for the bathrooms.

Maybe that'll be expansion 1. It looks like every ride imaginable is in this game, so a rides expansion seems unlikely. I'm callin' it now... "RCT3: Gamers Galore." That's the 2005 expansion pack!
