A New Orleans businessman is promoting his vision of an amusement park, resort hotel, international shopping center and Noah's ark replica as the solution for redeveloping the stagnant former Six Flags park in New Orleans East. Frank Scurlock, whose family invented inflatable bounce houses, presented his plan for "Festival Park, Spirit of Louisiana" to the New Orleans Industrial Development Board.

So, if the city floods again, will the park just float away? :-)

Sounds like this guy proposed something similar 2 years ago and couldn't pull together the money. While I get the concern about flooding, I would be much more worried about the fact that the park in this location failed twice and was well on its way to the same fate under the Six Flags brand.
I agree, I am not sure how sustainable a park in this area could be having looked at the past previous attempts.
There is no such thing as a terrible Coaster just ones that haven't been taken care of
My only question is, would the ark be "historically accurate"?
If not, forget it.
This is essentially Ark Encounter in Kentucky. The "replica" here however will probably be some small walk in thing that is essentially useless with AE in existence. No thanks.
I hear Pepsi Refresh grants are a great way to fund dead parks....
True...but what's going to fund the dead Pepsi Refresh program?
"...a Noah's Ark replica ... would serve as a meditative space for people to go and think about life..."
... how about a lovely garden where people of all religious backgrounds and even the Godless atheists could go and think about life?
Yeah, I'm putting this in the DreamVision park file...

I'm sure the first thing most people in New Orleans want to see is something that reminds them of a flood.
I think this developer would rather see a garden with a two naked people walking around. Which makes the whole venture suddenly sound interesting.
