Detroit paper touting SFGAm.

Found this kind of odd that a Detroit paper would advertise a park that is over 300 miles away considering Cedar Point is a closer drive.

Guess the Chicago park is just as attractive to the Detroit folks as CP is.

They do this every year. It's part of a larger article about all of the amusement parks in and around the area. Usually it includes Canada's Wonderland, Michigan's Adventure, Six Flags Great America, Kings Island, Geauga Lake, Holiday World, and Cedar Point.
The list of places within a day's drive is pretty decent for those of us in SE MI. It includes the Dells and the Smokies, too. Branson is a stretch, but you could do it if you were motivated.

If you plan to go to SFGAm from Detroit I'd recommend that you plan for a 4 day Trip, as It'll take you a Good Chunk of the day just to get through Chicago! (And that's on a Weekend!)

Answer My Prayers: Overbook my next Flight!

They want the money and are willing to advertise for it.

I see more ads for Kennywood than I do for GL,CP and KI combined.
Sure, Kw is only 150 miles or so, but htere's three other parks that are closer.

I live in Twin Lake MI, and I hear about SFGAM just as much as Cedar Point.

If you look at the article, it is not an advertisement. A reporter for this paper talks about the park. Six Flags had nothing to do with it.

I'm sure they didnt mind.
