Desperado Derailed? - CoasterBuzz

As someone stated in the Westcoaster forums, they were told that Desperado derailed. Someone later commented that they talked to someone in a restraunt across the street or something, and he said the ride derailed and it is closed until further notice. He said about 6 people were injured. Anyone know anything more?

Oh, right! Since he said that he talked to a waiter in a restaurant across the street, there's no way it could be a prank! Silly fools, that's the detail that proves the whole thing.

Actually it didnt derail, two trains collided in the station injuring people. Its the same thing that happened before it opened during testing.

My friend told me about it the other day in art class. She was on her way back from LA when her and her family stopped to ride the coaster. The workers there told her it was closed for at least a week. She asked another employee who told her it had another collision.

I live in Las Vegas, but nothing was on the news about it.

I have trouble believing that the media could have missed this. After all, they were already providing heavy coverage of a shark attack on this mornings news programs.

Not here in Las Vegas...actually they were mostly covering the big fire we had on friday. We had a very large brush fire on friday that was the main story for saturday. Also the rate increase for our electricity was also up there.

I heard that somebody's friend heard that the person who posts elsewhere heard that the waiter heard that the dippin dots guy said that the workers at Buffalo Bills were told that the ride-ops reported to the management that the riders on Desperado were claiming of aches and pains relating to a mid-air collision that took place somewhere in the enclosed helix part of the ride where nobody could see it happen. That for REAL. MY sources are acurate! :)

My friends were down in Florida the day of the shark attack. They were like 100 feet away from the girl. He said after people saw that someone got bit, that the scene was like straight from Jaws with people running frantically to the beach.

That is what a lot of people here are best at. Anyway, I heard this today from a lot more people, and I'm not sure I believe it or not, but it appears very believeable. It seems that a wheel assembly either broke or partially came off, and the train was brought to an abrubt stop (valleying, of course). Any minor injuries are from the sudden stop, and I doubt there was anything that caused a rider to be hospitilized, as that would have made the news. Once again, I don't know this for a fact, and no, there is not a Dippin Dots guy hiding in my closet.

There was no crash, or anything else on Desperado. It started as an April fool joke and nothing more. Man, people will believe anything, and without an ounce of proof!

As far as dippin dots. they have the vending machines all over vegas. the only full service "cart" is at wet n wild tho.

All over is a pretty liberal term. Just where are they in reference to Buffalo Bills, and who saw this incident?

Shark attack in Florida? The one that I saw on two networks was in Hawaii.

And it was the Dippin Dots guy in Ohio, not the Dippin Dots guy in Vegas that reported the crash. :)
