Designing Coasters

does anyone know what degrees one would need to get to become a coaster designer?

Do a search and you should find something. I am pretty sure I've seen this one before.:)

There are threads that deal with careers in the roller coaster and theme park industry already.

The short answer is to pursue a degree in civil or structural engineering, or, perhaps mechanical engineering. That holds true, at least, for coaster designers, I think.

Things get more complicated when you begin to consider things outside of roller coasters, though.

Search with some broader terms and you should find things. If I have a chance, I'll see what I can find, too.

In life you start the same as when you're done. If you lose, you're just where you've begun. If you win, remember what I said, don't quit while you're ahead. Who cares?

I read on CCI's site (under "Contact") that to become a designer for them you would need a degree in either civil or mechanical engineering and experience with AutoCAD.
Thanks, i thought it was CIvil and after thinking about it mechanical is obvious, just wanted to make sure
