Designers

I know the chances of being a coaster designer is like one in a million but I was wondering how they acually do it. Do they have a team of people who decide the type of ride that they should build or could one person just build one alone. I know its very rare but how would somebody get into that position to do something like that. Just wondering.
First id say u kinda should have a liking for the art of enginnering. if u do, go to college after ur happy high school days and major in mechanical or structural engineering. After so, submit ur resumes to coaster design firms like arrow, intamin, gca, vekoma, etc.. id say its just a matter of luck if u get a design job. and yes, teams of people (many people) take part in the process. all from the people who contsruct it, to the people who theme it, to the people who lay out the actual design on paper, and then there are people who figure out the forces and pulls(engineers), and the list goes on.

Actually I believe you have to major in Civil Engineering. Then just get lucky and find a job for a coaster company, or start your own.

People who help design different aspects of roller coasters come from all sorts of engineering background: mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and even computer engineering
