Design the perfect trip

Heres a little Sunday project for everyone:

You have a 16 day vacation and money is no object. However, due to a companions fear of flying you can only fly to a starting point and then fly out of that same starting point.

Therefore you have to plan a 14 day road trip starting anywhere in the world, however you must end up back where you started. Lets also assume this companion is a coaster lover, but not an enthusisast and hasnt been to any of the parks you plan on going to. What parks would you visit, and how long would you stay there? Dont forget to factor in travel times as well.

My starting point is to the local airport, where we fly to Hawaii and don't do anything coaster related.

Jeff that sounds like a great idea.

Cause coaster trips are such a stressfull part of our lives...
Where does fear of flying come into flying into and out of the same airport?

There's a lot more to life than coasters, and I think if more enthusiasts realized that there would be fewer single enthusiasts.

go to the airport. fly to cincy. Ride SoB.

Nuff said!

P.s.

I am not biased!

No beast tamer,

He said "perfect trip" not perfect trip to the hospital.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The idea was to make a perfect coaster road trip (yes I know other trips can be as fun but this is a coaster site) but since we all have different starting places the plane in and out gives you the ability to start and end anywere in the country, the friend who hates flying is just a hypothetical to get you to do a 2 week road trip instead of jetsetting all over the place.

Hijacking my own thread but Beast Tamer why did you choose that name for your self when you prefer SOB to the original (maybe Son of Beast Tamer)? Many of us would agree with your choice to go to PKI but we usually skip or one ride SOB and instead multi ride papa, FoF and the Racer.

I agree with Jeff, however I would meet up with Agent Johnson and hit VEGAS!!!! Then we would return to Cinci, find where Beast Tamer lives, and throw his computer out of the window. :)

........good times.

To answer the question, it would have to be a two week road trip starting in the NE / and through the Mid Atlantic States hitting some of the great parks located in that region. *** Edited 4/18/2005 3:17:08 AM UTC by Hanging n' Banging***

I'm with Jeff on this one except screw the U.S., I'm going to Queensland, Australia and diving my ass off on the great barrier reef. Then take a live aboard dive boat up to PNG for some diving in Milne Bay. Either that or just go straight to Bora Bora and get away from EVERYTHING. If I was able to do that, I wouldn't even think about a coaster once the entire time I was there.

I'd go skiing all over the country and then the last few days spend in Florida hitting Busch Gardens and IOA.

Well hey, Hawaii is like half-way there, so you could make a stop!

I'll stop in Hawaii in a heart beat.

My point is if I had two weeks and money wasn't an option, I'm getting out of the states. If I were to stay on American soil though, I'd live like a whale in Vegas.

I don't know, I enjoy vacations, but I don't see anything wrong with coaster vacations. They seem to be the ones I enjoy the most...

..and I do have a life. :)

I can't agree more with Jeff. My wife and I compromise, since I take a 3 day trip with a buddy of mine to get 'it' over with, right after school lets out. Then, it's summer fun with my bride until I start football. Hawaii is nice.....but....on a teacher's salary... especially during contract negotiations when they are offering to spank us with an HMO? Sorry, Hawaii will wait until retirement. Thank God, my uncle lives in Jupiter, Fla.

Moosh said it perfectly. For the 4th summer in a row, my family is getting 3 monster cottages at Indiana Beach and this year, we're bringing the boat. We stayed in the penthouse last season, but needed more room this year. I don't 'need' to utilize the coasters, everyday. Just the 4 B's: BBQ, Brew, Boat, & Balatas.

There's nothing like a woodie...

So it's settled that we're all meeting in Hawaii then? Somebody pick an island.

My mother just got back from there and took a helicaopter ride over the volcanoes. She said it was more of a thrill than any roller coaster she'd ever been on (and she's been on quite a few). I would agree with her on that. Last year we went to Sedona and took a helicoper tour. Nothing like buzzing down the canyons to speed up your heart rate.
