DelGrosso's update

(I have been away from CoasterBuzz for a while due to lifechanging events, and it nice to be back. Please forgive me if this topic is redundant and has been allready been discussed.)

The disappointing postponement of the parks new Crazy Mouse may be close to an end. Even though they missed their predicted Independence Day weekend opening, people around the area are still very excited for the ride to open soon.

I was told by park personnel to expect the ride to open within the week. That would mean sometime before this Sunday, July 11th.

I want to be upset with DelGrosso's for the delay, but knowing the circumstances, I can't justify it.

Ask any park employee and the buzz around the park is that a few problems beond DelGrosso's control are to blame. The ride got to the U.S. late for some reason. Customs kept the ride for a lot longer than expected, and Reverchron (sp?) didn't send all of the parts to the ride so they had to be reodered. I know that gossip and rumors aren't viewed positivly here on CoasterBuzz, but that is all I've got.

Has anyone heard otherwise? Does this sound at least partially true?

Thanks for the update. I have heard pretty much the same story as you, something about the mouse getting stopped at customs for a ridiculously unnecessary amount of time.

I paid a visit to DelGrosso's as well as Lakemont last year, and I was quite surprised to find DelGrosso's much more crowded, and cleaner than Lakemont. Lakemont (IMO) just felt like a big fair, while DelGrosso's actually felt like an amusement park. (That's not a knock on Lakemont, it's a fantastic park) DelGrosso's has tons of potential, and it's good to see they're taking the right steps in adding the Crazy Mouse, (even if it is late) Wacky Worm and the Free Fall. Hopefully this little park will keep expanding, I may have to return up there much sooner than I had previously planned. :)

I called Del Grosso's yesterday as a matter of fact, and they told me the Mouse would be open this weekend. :-D

I've heard pretty much the same thing from sources I trust -- parts for the mouse got humg up in customs, slowing construction.

Thanks for the update. I can't wait to ride it.

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."

My contact told me that The DelGrosso family test rode the ride yesterday. It could even be open today.

I will take the Crazy Mouse for a spin sometime next week. WOOOHOOO!
