DelGrosso's to open three rides from Cypress Gardens

Despite tough economic times, DelGrosso's Amusement Park officials are making a major investment to improve the park for the 2009 season. DelGrosso's has purchased three rides from Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Fla., and hopes to have them up and running for the May 3 opening day.

I'm guessing this means the Sea Dragon is leaving...sad to hear as it was a cool ride and I think the Sea Dragons are nicer looking than the Pharoh's Fury.

Wonder if anything else is leaving in place of the other rides? Not much space in the amusement area from what I saw back in 07'.

You wouldn't have to guess if you read the whole article. ;)

Glad to see they are keeping the price the same, as they technically aren't adding anything but a kiddy ride, the others are replacements. Not sure why they would give up balloon race as it is actually a ride parents could ride with their kids unlike a yo-yo with individual chairs. Nothing still about the loop-screw that might be rotting away somewhere?

Yeah, same here...I like Balloon Race's and the one at DelGrosso's was really nice they way they landscaped around it any all.

You can still ride it. You just need to drive 4.5 hours east.

Is it possible to drive three to four hours east from Central Florida and not end up in the Atlantic Ocean? ^_^

I live about 4.5 hours east of Dellgrossos...where's it going? Is that the Balloon Race or Sea Dragon too?

Both. They make a great pair.

I would guess that they are going to one of the amusement parks along the coast.

How many points do I get for my guess?

That Sea Dragon was from Whalom. Id have to look at my pictures, because i can't remember if it was racked or not. Im pretty sure the Pharoh is ground mount and I think the Yo Yo is. Cypress had a mix of permanent and racked rides. He really had big dreams for that park.
