Deja Vu's orange seatbelts

Are these seatbelts really neccessary, why were they added in the first place? I think it would would increase capacity alot if they removed them.

They were added after guests riding SFoG's ride complained of feeling uncomfortable, unsafe, and not properly restrained while going up the back spike. SFoG's ride ran without them for a short time (until the complaints), but SFGAm's and SFMM's opened with them, since those two rides opened later than the SFoG ride. Are they necessary? Absolutely not. Do they have to slow loading times? Absolutely not. Do they? Yes, because of stupid Six Flags policies.

Yeap. That was one HUGE downside to the ride. Didn't like that at all.

I thought SFMM's opened first.

Maybe another reason they are there is to act as a measuring device, If the buckle doesnt reach then the restraint isn't all teh way down.

Yeah SFMMs Deja Vu was the first to open on I think if i remember correctly August 25th and then SFOG opened theirs the week later in the begining of september. SFGAm did open theirs last October 7th a month + later. I do remeber when these were added although I dont think I remember the reason.

Question is: Do they actually make you feel safer? It's still an intense climb.

I think the climb would be more wicked without them. Did anybody ride them without the seatbelts?

I don't think the climb would be any more intense without them, I really don't think they do anything unless you have your seatbelt very tight. The only thing I see them doing is making the loading times horriable.

Oops. :-)

To clear things up, yes SFMM's Deja Vu opened first. I can't remember if SFoG's opened with or without the orange seatbelts, but in any case they were added because of guest complaints.

The first time I went on Dejavu I was suppriesd at the restraints the seat belt does really nothing since you hearnest is right up against you. But you never know when the restriants might fail. You can never be too carefull ( LoL).
