Deja Vu valleys again at SFGAm

My sister was at GAm a couple of nights ago for a special private business function for my uncle's company. She told me that it got caught either on the top going up the lift, or in the cobra roll. she wasn't too clear where, but it sounded like the cobra roll because she said some were stuck upside down. It was then closed for the night.

Regardless of the position, do you think that this may be one of the final straws before Six Flags Great America pulls Deja Vu from it's lineup??

It's going....Going....Gone! Out of the park!

Seriously, it is going to go. I don't see any real reason to keep it, becuase it has bad capicity, reliabilty, and other things a big major coaster at a huge park needs. I think this might be the sight of SFGAm's new (hopefully) big flat!

kind of a shame if you think about it, not only does a pretty unique ride fail to deliver as promised, but they also had to take out the Skywhirl, which is a dying breed of a ride.

You sure shes not making this up? I haven't heard anything about this from people who were at the park this past weekend. And Deja Vu being valleyed in the Boomerang would be really obvious and im sure we would have heard reports of it by now.

I know it was open on Sunday but closed early like it has been doing and finished off the line, and I know it was closed all day yesterday due to the weather. So I don't know when this could have happened.

Deja Vu is not going anywhere.

For one, the park doesn't have anything to replace it with (it occupies a pretty darn small footprint) and considering the capital invested in all three of them, I'm pretty sure they're going to put every effort into making them run well.

she is not a coaster fan, so she wouldn't make it up.

about the size of the footprint, what about a sky sling? just for kicks, maybe a screaming squirrel?

Since it runs so poorly in the cold, it would seem to make sense to move it somewhere warmer...
What day was she there then? Because as far as I know it did not valley this weekend.

And not being and Enthusiasts gives her more reasons to make it up. You have no idea how many people I have heard say they got stuck upside down on so and so coaster.

A co-worker of mine was at that private event Friday night. She said the train got stuck on the first spike where the train gets pulled up initially. It didn't valley.

I think it'd be nice to have Sky Whirl back in if Vu gets removed.

I've said it once, I'll say it again... The weather DOES NOT affect Deja Vu very much at all. Notice that I said "very much"... I'm sure the weather has an affect on it, in fact I know it. There are space heaters inside the station, above the track to keep it warm on cold days. That being said, I have seen Deja Vu operate flawlessly (yes, i did say flawlessly) in both extremes of weather. I've seen it operate on an extremely hot day in the middle of July, with no problem at all. And, I've seen it operate at Last Blast with NO problems at all. Just so you know, Last Blast was extremely cold (it required layers of pants and shirts, jacket, winter hat, and gloves).

Yeah during Last Blast it was about 30 degrees outside, half of the pond in front of the carousel was frozen and Deja Vu ran flawlessly.

Question...apparently the ride has been closing early on some days according to TRs. Some TRs seem to mention "staffing" as the issue. Why would they not have staffing for what is probably the 2nd most popular ride in the park that many people still probably haven't ridden. Shut down Demon or IW, but not DV!

Deja Vu isnt going anywhere. It still packs a 2 1/2 hour line on weekdays and is very popular. Everytime the ride is going, everyone just stops and watches. I have to say that when I got my first ride (15 min wait thank you very much :-] ) I thought it was VERY good. Extremely smooth, it has more air than an other coaster at the park IMO, and very fun to go through inversions backwards. the initial lift is very scary and fun. Its very popular (compared to all day walkons and complaints from Shockwave) and the people love it. I dont know how anyone would want it torn down or even say they hate it.
