Deja Vu Seating

Do you think they should change the way the gates are set up before loading into the cars?  I found the A and B thing kind of pointless because I had to walk through side A to get to the far end of Side B's seat.  I think they should just load everyone through the A gate 4 across what do you think?

I think there should have been more space BETWEEN the rows...the orientation of the seating definitely confounds the loading/unloading, which only serves to make waits even longer...

I still cannot believe how much trouble people were having with the simple instructions boarding this ride.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I believe there is some sort of special magnet at the main gate of parks that sucks the brain cells out of folks heads ;-)

In all seriousness, I can see how it could be confusing to those unfamiliar with Deja Vu's unique seating.

Quite honestly, I am suprised that SF did not think simply.  They over complicated the process when all they really needed was numbered dots on the station floor ala Power Tower at CP.  All they had to do was send each group to their particular gate, tell them to chose a dot and then board the seat that corresponds to it. if you stand on the #3 dot, then sit in seat #3.  See?

Shaggy I don't think you understood the question, In order to get to Deja Vu's far seat you have to walk through another row, most of the time the people in the other row are already sitting down and you have to sqeeze through.  My question is what can six flags do to prevent this problem because this is a very new way of seating, and it is very confusing for first time riders.

Actually I did.  Let me explain my method a bit furthur.

Imagine that you are part of a group of four.  The "sorter" at the stations entrance would tell your group to go stand at say, the 3rd gate.  When you arrived at the gate, there would be 4 numbered dots on the floor one for each member of your party.  The dots on the floor would be arranged in the "pyramid" order in which you actually sit. When the gates open, you walk straight ahead.  The gates should be lined so that when open, allow the guests to enter only the row in front of them.  The #1 person would walk through your row past seat 4, then 3 then 2.  The #2 person would walk though your row past seat 4 then 3.  So on and so on.

Now in a perfect world, this would make sense and everyone would get on with no problems whatsoever.  However we all know the GP.  I guarantee that even if everyone did follow this common sense method, that the person farthest from the unload side would be the one to walk all the way through the row to store a loose article, then all the way back through.  OIY

Quite frankly, I don't know that there is a simple solution.  It is, IMO poor seat design.

I think the bigger issue with the ride lies with it's restraint system.  Due to guests feeling "unsecure" the extra seat belt was added.  No problem, I can understand a non experienced rider being very frightened.  However I cannot understand their inability to listen to the VERY specific instructions of not to pull down their harness prior to latching the seat belt.

Yet I need not point fingers.  I have been known to tick off people over seemingly simple things due to my own negligence in not paying attention.

I get what your saying now. About the harness thing though I understand what most people do, on inverts im not used to having that extra seatbelt, and my first time on Deja Vu I pulled down my harness right away then I realized my mistake and pushed it up quick and found the seat belt and put it on.

It would be simple if while in the station that the harness would lock in the up position.  There are plenty of things that they can do to make the time between rides much quicker.

Yes, I want my Deja Vu and eat it too!
If any of you guys have ever worked at a theme park, you realize that people have a hard time walking straight into a row. They wait in line for hours and then when the gates open, they decide who they want to sit next to.

-----------------
"ok everyone go ahead and pull down on your shoulder restraint so you feel nice and stuck!"

It would have been a LOT easier IMO if people just decided they were safe with the OTSR's.  The add-on seatbelts (not OEM) really made things MUCH harder at SFoG...and from what I understand, the same "modification" was made to the other Deja Vus...

Where are the add-on seatbelts located that makes them so hard to deal with?

They are just regular seatbelts that go across you from one side of the seat to the other, but in order for them to check that you have to put it on first before you pull down the harness so they can check it.
