Deja Vu at SFMM closed March 1st

Thats right, my favorite ride at the whole park was closed on Sat March 1st. While on Psyclone I noticed like half of the trains were removed, so maybe that rumor about them putting 4 across is true? Plus a lady working on Riddlers Revenge (who normally works on Deja Vu) said they were making the seating a little bit different, so it would load quicker. She said it should re-open in 2-3 weaks. And in other news, Screams lift, loop, dive loop, 360 roll (inline twist), and half of the boomerang element are all up. If this keeps up, expect media day to be April 1st.
That would be VERY nice. That v shaped seating makes for the worst loading.most confusion I have ever seen!

I wonder what the new configuration will be. I liked the V configuration, because you got an unobstructed view in the outer rows.

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

I was partial to the outside seats because you actually have legroom there. When the trail makes its way up the first tower, finishing its run, there's a split second of freefall before the sled catches the train. Unless I really fight it, I can end up kicking the row in front of me really hard in the front seats, and the sharp edge on it hits my shins. OUCH!

'Course, with non-staggered rows, the cars wouldn't be so...well...deep, I guess, so maybe it wouldn't be an issue.

Why do you have to be under 6'4 to ride deja vu anyways i'm 6'8 an i would truley love to enjoy this coaster. Please tell me someway to ride i'm desperate.

After what Tom Servo said it reminded me of the insanely low amount of leg clearance between cars. I can't remember if I sat on the inside or outside on my DV ride, but I was shocked. They weren't kidding with those warnings on the car in front of you about not extending your legs! I'm actually surprised people haven't ignored those warnings and had their legs crushed yet.

Rumor is that CAL OSHA inspected Deja Vu last Monday so Deja Vu might just be under rehab. I just find it weird that if Deja Vu is in rehab that the train rehab would be done in the station. For that reason, I am thinking it is more than just a rehab. Anyways, I have pictures of Deja Vu's rehab or transformation or whatever it is on my website at http://sfmm.brakerun.com/construction0301_1.html.

You said in one of your captions that the Scream! lift motor will be placed at the top of the lift. B:DK has it on the bottom.

Well, I believe the reason is a reach issue. The taller you are the longer you arms are, I'm only 6'0 and I can almost touch the track. Now I know you wouldn't want to but if you have your hands up during the ride, it looks like they could get caught.

I think it's actually more of a "footchopper actually becoming a footchopper" issue.

Unfortunetly RichTheRuler, there is no way you can ride it, unless you were to shrink.

Do you think they will change the train design on the ones at SFGAm and SFOG?? Just a thought.....

Are you ready to fly in '03 SFGAm??? :)

There were already rumors for the Great America Deja Vu even before the DJ at SFMM closed down yesterday for rehab.
Somehow, this new train rumor doesn't add up. If it was getting a new train, couldn't they just take the old train's cars off in one piece. I don't understand why they would literally disect the old train in the station like that if they were getting a new train.
The rumor doesn't mention anything about a new train... it just says that the current trains might be modified.

The SFMM train could just be getting the strengthening done to the main structure and seat connectors that the SFoG one got mid summer.

RichTheRuler - Come down and ride the version of Deja Vu at SFoG. I'm 6'6" and have never had any problem riding or being in danger of having my feet chopped off.

I have a feeling that RichTheRuler may be out of luck at 6'8". Maybe in Georgia they are less strict about height. Because at SFMM I am checked pretty much every time I ride, sometimes by more than one attendant, and I am barely 6'4".

One problem I always hear is people hitting their legs on the car infront of them. Maybe they are putting more room between each car on the train?
