Deja Vu and rain

Yes, the front is great, but you don't get that much time to appreciate the speed. As soon as you notice how fast you're going, it's up into the cobra roll.

But in the Front Seat you get to appreciate the speed when your going backwards. This coaster in my mind is a number 1 ride in front row.

I just hope Vekoma perfects the design so they can throw them at any park that Six Flags needs a coaster.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?

I think someone needs to edit Teenage Ninja's sig.

S:UE (WoA) also operates in rain - I rode it once in the beginning of a torrential downpour that ended up flooding much of Aurora that night - the experience was amazing ... first pain from the rain coming at you that fast (I was in the front seat) then seeing rain fall right at you on the spikes - then the pain just becomes fun :)

They should make it a rule that all impulses have to run in the rain unless there's severe lightning ;) (although if you're lucky the lightning could just energize the LIMs even more ... as long as you don't shoot off the end of the track, what a ride that could be!)

My guess is that Deja Vu just has really sensative photo eyes or proximity switches which would make a slight drizzle appear as something blocking the track to the computer system.

It makes sense from what Coasterdude said about reopening right after they close with light drizzle in that it'd give time for the park to either reset the proximity switches or wipe off the photo eyes. Then again the reason Vu is closed in slight drizzle could be a different reason all together.

All I know is that when it rains hard I have to go out with a little rag and wipe off the photo eyes on Ex or else the safety system thinks there's another train on the track. (Which would disable the train from being able to be dispatched from the station, get stuck on the lift, or stop in one of the ready brakes.)

In fact most coasters have this problem with rain (Being that either maintainence or the ride's crew has to wipe off the photo eyes). The only ride I've heard of being able to withstand a real hard rain would be Power Tower and that's because it has a hose that blows the rain off the photo eyes.

I like Deja Vu, but sorry, the coaster has WAY too many plagues.
Speed: The Ride runs in hard rain. I've only seen it close when lightning appears. Maybe this is because the second set of LIMS is covered by a walkway?

Valleyfairfan, that seems like a reasonable explanation to me. I have seen a mechanic doing this before on rides at SFoG.

Although most coaster do shut down in the rain, Dueling Dragons runs in torrential downpours. Trust me, I rode it during one. If you ever thought you felt pain on a coaster before, try this. I will admit it is probably the most fun I have *ever* had on a coaster before. Also, when the train went into the brakes, collected water on top came pouring down on top of us. I got more wet on that ride than I did on Flying Super Saturator earlier this summer.
