Deja Vu and burns?

DV IS a great ride, but the queing for it sucks. You have no choice as to where you sit, so I count myself very fortunate to snap this shot my first time.

Of the 6 or 7 other rides I've managed since then, none else were in the front. :(

Is it the real yellow or the yellow that they had on the coaster cars??

I doubt it,there will probably be a serious accident or fatality on an SLC before anyone dies or is injured on an invertigo/super invertigo.

Those SLC's are just an accident waiting to happen which is why I avoid Mind eraser at all costs, hell I don't even bother going in coyote creek anymore except to grab a bite to eat around dinner time.

When open, SFGAm allows you to wait for the front row. They even had a special queue for it, although it probably adds 15-30minutes to your wait time.

The front is incredible on Déjà vu, although I've heard equally great things about the back (which I have yet to experience).

man their was no state wide power outage and i would no cause i live an hour away and my brother live like 15 minutes away and we didn't get anything. that is my home park i'm not rideing that ride again hehehe

Tear it down and sell it for scrap!

YOUNGSTOWN 2010

they need to do that to all of them that was a bad ride to build anyway and they always closed
Lets put it this way all 4 parks who got this ride never knew it was going to have probelms. Secondly, this ride is expensive, why would a park tear it down and lose money off doing that espically the fact its only going to be 3 years old this year, also my home park is SFGAM ,inwhich, last year I had the opportunity to ride in the front and back on this ride , and for you who havent ever ridden it and talk like its nothing is wrong because its one hell of ride and rush and as a enthuasist ill tell you its one of the greatest experiences you can have. Especially, with that 200 ft tower straight down. Gotta Love it

Your saving $$$$$ by tearing it down than to keep throwing $$$$$ into it when the damn thing still won't work.

I take it you don't understand the concept of capital investments.

I have experience with it as well as an industrial plant near my hometown that tore down one of its facilities in a similar situtation. Amusement parks have done it numerous times in the past (not typically a roller coaster) to flat rides. It gets too expensive and more difficult to locate replacement parts for the ride. It's just like owning a car. If you continue to have problems with it, why put more money into the vehicle? Get rid of it. I know Deja Vu isn't that old, but this is getting rediculous. It was built for a purpose, not to be a statue.

If it would be beneficial to remove Deja Vu from a financial standpoint, SF (or anyone) would have already done it. Keep in mind that parks usually know more about this sort of stuff than we do.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

I'm sure not going to ride a coaster that spits out sparks at me. In my opinion (with repect to everyone elses views), the ride is a piece of junk and should be demolished.

Well, until I get verified PROOF, not someone saying that their best friend's cousin's sister's boyfriend, I'll continue to be in doubt of this story.

I tell you this much...If I was burned by sparks caused by the ride and received medical attention for them, I'd sure get more than a free day pass/refund for the day.

Also, I have seen many idiots (as stated above) who "light up" on coasters and the cigarette's lit end breaks apart, causing what would look like sparks to be trailed behind it...when that has happened, upon returning to the station I report it to the ride-ops and get that person kicked out of the park.

Back to the subject ,I went on a day last year where there was a soft opening ,(also the day where everything broke down and Acraphobia got stuck) and after about a 30 minute wait for them to open the ride at 2:30(supposed to be two) I got on the third ride of the day in the front seat. One hyphenated word. G-FORCE ! It was crazy, and I was seeing stars afterwards. I also got to ride in the front that trip , sweet. Everyone at school gets mad at me when I tell them , Because it's always closed when they go. Something even crazier, my friend chickened out. And he calls himself a coaster enthusiest. Ha!

I did actually give some thought before I posted this. I read this item in the Sun-Sentinel (a South Florida newspaper). Of course, that doesn't make true...just ask the people at the New York Times.

But, this story was included with a group of stories about people's visits to amusement parks. These weren't enthusiasts with an agenda...just people relating stories. The person wasn't a "Six Flags basher" and stated that aside from the Deja Vu incident they really enjoyed their day.

It isn't like she said her dad was thrown from the train or anything crazy like that. I thought it was an interesting story, particularly the state of the Deja Vu rides as they sit right now.

My front row ride on DV was the first ride in which I've "seen stars" on a coaster. Still, I prefer the back because the first drop is more effective. But front and back are both sweet.

The interesting thing is that SFGAM's DV was operating flawlessly in 30-40 degree temps on its final weekend last year. Was a new defect discovered over the winter?
