Debris Catchers

LoL... crap catchers... TCFKAB... Fabio... this thread actually is filled with laughs...

And on the camel backs on Magnum, just before the 3rd tunnel there's a crap catcher. I don't remember but I think it crosses over a pathway in Soak City.

Scott has a good point about Magnum...

When the coaster crosses the midway (twice) there is no protection; where it crosses the access road, there is no protection. But where it crosses the walkway next to the road, there is a piece of steel under the track, and there is a tunnel over the path at the "far" end of the Go-Kart track.

I'm trying to think of any other CP coasters with a "double standard". So far I'm not thinking of any although several coasters...notably Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, and Gemini, but at least those are consistent.

Gwazi has those ugly chain fences separating the two tracks which totally ruins the look of the ride and the feeling of dueling.   Lightning Racer simply has signs and announcements about the danger of throwing objects from the ride and that seems to be enough.
I think the part on Millennium Force where you walk to and from the portable queue area under the final overbank does this. It lacks the little tent things found at the entrance and exit.

While flying objects from coasters are scary and dangerous....

The scariest is working ride op at the Adventuredome's chaos. Park policy mandates the wearing of shoes. So that means sandals fly any and anywhere. During the summer a girl got hit in the head by a misguided shoe. Lucky for the ride op you get a plexiglass cover...heh.

One time a girl lost her compact. It hit the control booth sending glass went everywhere, including into my arm. I was sweeping for ages trying to get that stuff up. All we need is another lawsuit.

Once my friend and I were riding the swings at Cedar Point (don't know what they're called but it's the same as PKI's Zephyr).  She had a can of Dr Pepper in her pocket and it went flying.  That really could have killed someone.

To comment on the original question...

I can't speak for MF, but (from a show on some cable channel, it was either the Discovery or the Travel Channel) that SD2K has "wind deflectors" on every car because it goes so fast.

RCT hypercoaster crazy!

I know the immelman of alpenghiest has crap catchers, I mean if some oen were to lose a shoe on the way up that thing it would be like a rocket since a pathway leads almost pralel with the direction that the track leading into the imelman. I am sure people who have spent enough time wandering BGW have seen it many times. I have spotted them on apollo and nessie as well. the one son apollo I think are to keep birds from flying in low across the flat section of the tracks.

Arrow suspended coasters have crap-catchers under the wheel assemblies so that grease, dirt, water, and broken parts don't land on the passengers.

Hmmmm broken part huh? I guess the passengers would get angry if they;re hit by a stray wheel as the train plumets to earth? LOL just kidding I thought it sounded funny.
