Saturday, May 28, 1994 - A 14-year-old boy died after riding a roller coaster at an amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio

Can Someone fill me in on this story please???

I wonder if anyone has died at indiana beach???

Why are we talkin aabout people dying?
Plenty of People died at Gadv, they had the haunted house fire and a guy shot someone. Now you know why security is so tight.

JordonDunham, The 14 year old boy had brain tumor(tech. name escapes me..) which he did not knnow about. During a ride on Wilcat(I am not sure if on or off the ride) the tumor exploded. After investigation it was said that no matter where he was it would have happened and the ride had nothing to do with it.

MikeMir87, Unless you are talking about the describe accident, no one died in a ride related accident at Cedar Point.

No one's died at Indiana Beach, but it's kindof surprising since Tig'rr has no restraints.  But thankfully there is hardly any negative g's.

You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!
I heard once some one got ran over at SFGRAM But I cannot confirm it.
In 1997 at SFEG, the employee died when she fell off the tower of the Sidewinder.  I believe that is the only death at the new park, but I have no idea what happened at the old park in those 100+ years that they were open for.

SFGAm has had no deaths (well, ride related deaths.) The worst accident that happend there would probably be when The Edge fell down it's lift and hurt a few people. (Some people would call the Demon incident the worst thing that happend at the park, but again, nobody died.)

Per Cedar Point management: "...there have never been any deaths occuring directly, or indirectly, as a result of any mechanical or maintenance issue at Cedar Point."

I was actually working at PKI the night "Tower Tommy" died. It was a grad night in 1983. He was drunk and trying to show off for his recently "ex-girlfriend". He climbed from the lowest of the two top levels, into a restricted area. He was hit by a counter weight and fell on to the top of one of the elevator cars.  The ride was closed for several weeks afterwards. I do not believe they ever replaced or removed any elevator cable.
Althought not listed on the Rides 911 page, a young man died on Z-Force at SFOG (now Flashback at SFMM).  He had a prexsisting medical condition which meant he shouldn't have been on the ride in the first place.  Upon arrival in the station he was unconscious and/or dead.  The ride was closed for a while and subsequently removed from all the bad PR that followed the incident.
2 people have died at PGA. One of them was on Willard's Wizzer and the other fell from Drop Zone. By the way, did they ever find out how the kid feel from Drop Zone?

Don't forget about the Top Gun incident previously to the Drop Zone one when a latino man entered restricted fenced off area to retreive a lost hat when a passing inverted coaster train overhead killed him when a lady struck him in the head with her foot.
Three people have died in Knott's 80+ year history. Two of them being within two months of each other which are the Perilous Plunge and Montezooma's Revenge incidents. The other was when an employee was caught and I think was crushed between two railroad cars. There was a time when an engineer was dragged by the Calico Railraod, but I think he survived/

Actually, I remember 2 people dying on the American Eagle a couple years back. Mid ride they tried to stand up & either the lap bar wasn't on tight enough or under both of their pressure the lap bar came undone. Anyway, they were ejected from the ride & were killed. I think there may have been one more incident, but I can't think of one.......our Roaring Rapids hasn't capsized, has it? Oh, well, I'll ponder some more.

Someone died on Shockwave at PKD. He was trying to do something with his harness and fell out in the helix.

I was at CP on Memorial Day 1996?  and a kid of only 16 had a heart attack on Wildcat and died.
I think this subject sux to tell you the truth and  I also believe that almost all guesses will be way low because of stuff like the example I gave above.
Chuck, who also says that Black Sunday at PKI was three deaths and not two.   Fight Comander (1) and Two trying to save the drunk who fell into the pond .   The drunk lived.

167 coasters asn hopes to be over 200 by the end of 2002

When Boulderdash struck the worker, there was an article in a local newspaper.  4 people have died at Lake Compounce-Boulderdash, water slide, scrambler, and Wildcat.  The scrambler (now dismantled) incident was that the worker was fooling around, got caught under the ride, and was dragged and hit until his death.  The Wildcat incident happened a while ago.  I think a worker commited suicide, and the park was sued for unsafe work areas.  Also, coasterforce (European Website) has some incidents listed on their site.
