Death on Perilous Plunge...

I never thought I would say this...

It stinks that this is getting not very much media coverage.

I can't believe I said that.

WOW! THAT'S TERRIBLE.  WHAT KIND OF RIDE IS IT?

PP is a chute the chutes type water ride with a boat going down the hill instead of a "classic" log. Isn't PP one of the biggest or something?

G.Bush:We will find those who did it, smoke them out of their holes, get them running, and bring them to justice.
I pray that I will never see a Six Flags Conneaut Lake

This is just nuts!

another brain aneurysm.  not to sound uncaring, but this will undoubtedly just feed Mr. Markey's argument that amusment park rides are killers.  my heart goes out to the family and friends of the desceased.

no sig in respect

Perilous Plunge closed early august when the chain broke.
While they were at it, they took the time to paint the bottom and repaint the drop.
It reopened about 2 weeks ago.
Now this has happened, and no one knows how quite yet.
Don't start rumors.
Just wait. I'm sure we will know more than we need to know soon enough.
Poor Knotts. :(

Knotts Halloween Haunt!!
29 years and still screaming.

they just said on the news that the woman fell out and landed in the pond below

uutghh... that sucks....

i guess the restraints finally failed or they werent locked right or something...

According to updated information, park officials say that the lapbar was locked and the seatbelt was also on. Is it possible that the woman did not meet the height requirements for the ride? I smell a lawsuit coming on.
This is terrible.:(

It might end up being just like the Chaos accident at MA,if Cedar Fair is to blame they'll end up finding a way to hush things up.

My money is on too many beers and her finding a way to get out of the restraint.  Back in 1977 this jack... tried to stand up on the Log Ride.  Fortunately he sat down before the drop.  My sister was freeking out.  Hence the voice that yells, "SIT DOWN!"

If this is the case, I highly doubt that the restraints failed.  Most likely it was caused by rider stupididity/misconduct.  I would venture to say there are ways to sneak your way out of MOST restraints.  People, for some stupid reason, like to try to stand up on lifthills alot.  Many times on Magnum, we had to stop the lift (causing a couple minutes of operational downtime) to send someone up to tell someone not to stand.  Shall we also say that a person caught standing on the lift would not enjoy the rest of their ride in the usual "comfort."
