Death on Goliath

I just saw on the news that there was a death on Goliath at SFMM Quote:Woman Dies After Magic Mountain Roller Coaster Ride
KFWB) -- A 28-year-old woman died within minutes of riding the "Goliath" roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. It appears she was uninjured, but suffered some sort of internal medical problem.
A Magic Mountain spokesman reported the woman was unconscious when the ride came to a stop back on the loading platform. He says the woman was immediately taken by ambulance to nearby Henry Mayo Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The woman's identity was not immediately released, be she is believed to be from outside Southern California, and was seated next to a friend or relative in the roller coaster. Goliath is a smooth ride that remains upright throughout, but does include extreme drops. It opened in the year 2000.

The park spokesman said he could not confirm heart attack as the cause of death. Such a determination would have to come from the coroner's office.

Two words. Remember '99.

Will this be another summer that leads to ignorant oafs writing articles on how coasters are evil and deadly? I hope not.

The death has saddened me, but still, if she knew she had a heart problem, she shouldn't have ridden the coaster. They have warnings posted all over.

Blood clot in the helix? Maybe a stroke from the blood pushed away from the brain? If either is the case, the coaster caused the death, and that is NOT a very fun thing to think about.

It's coming...
It's a sad story but things like this do happen. Almost 100% of the time the rider has a medical condition which caused the fatality, probably the case here.
