DDRMAX2 wish list

OK, let's get this forum started off with a big ol' wish list.... what do you want in the next PS2 version? Here's what I want:

-nonstop mode. It was in Konamix, so I don't know why they took it out for MAX.

-a selection of easier Oni courses. I'd like to be able to play, say, a 10-song Oni course that didn't have a bunch of 9-footers in it. Heck, out of the few Oni courses on MAX, at least two of them I'll never beat because they have Rhythm and Police. I'd like more on the lines of Lesson Oni - start off with a few basics, move on to standards and end with heavy songs.

-keep better track of high scores. Perhaps it could have a "record" feature where you could play back your best performances. At the very least, I'd like to know how many times I've played each song (also available in Konamix).

-Songs I Want - if the new game has 3/4 of these songs, I'll be very happy: Maxx Unlimited, Tsugaru, Burning Heat, 321 Stars, Ska a Go Go, Can't Stop Fallin' in Love Speed Mix, Burnin' the Floor Momo Mix, Paranoia Survivor, Nori Nori Nori, Telephone Operator, Ghosts, Cowgirl, www.blondegirl, Cartoon Heroes, Witch Doctor, Waka Laka, Dam Dariam, Sexy Planet, Saint Goes Marching, A, V, Speed Over Beethoven. ... and I could even deal with some repeats from Konamix or other home versions, as long as they're good ones.... meaning: Super Star, Drop Out, Luv to Me, Orion Amuero Mix, Salamander, Afronova, etc.

I agree about high scores, in that I'd like to see them remember by song as well as overall score. If I had the high Paranoia Evolution standard, I'd like to see my initials there.

My favorite song so far has been If You Were Here, so I would like to see a remix of that! I wouldn't even attempt a nonstop mode, but it's still something I'd like to watch. :)

The workout mode is something I always use whenever I play, so I hope they would continue that on the new release.

I would love all the songs the real MAX 2 has, other then that I am pretty well open. Maybe a five song game as opposed to three would be a nice option as well.

Coming in 2003-The Spawn Of Magnum!

MagnumForce, there is an option in gameplay on the PS2 version for 5-song sets - I was playing them this morning as I was trying to restore my memory card

I would like non stop mode but I have not tried konamix so i can't really say that I really want it.

Great Escape Online Guide Coming Soon!

Calvin, I believe the release date is sometime in the early fall.

If they put nonstop in the new game, I hope they have specific courses like Extreme does, like the Oni courses without the battery. In Konamix, you can play any five songs nonstop, but you have to painstakingly set up the courses beforehand in a special menu. It's annoying.

Something else I'd like to see is the battle mode. I think this was only in the 4th mix plus, and I've never played it, but I know that two people can play at once and the steps complement each other, rather than being the same.

One word...

Wonderland...

Rolla coasta lova, and a DDR maniac

I hope they have the dancing people. I hope that they interact with what you do, For ex: If you get perfect and combos then they do insane moves and cooler tricks but if you get boos then the character does less tricks or you could base on how the dancers dance by the life meter. Also I hope there is a option that can turn on the back ground or have dancing people.

I would also like to have multiplayer. I mean internet, i know it won't be exciting but it would be cool to see who is the best at that precise moment. Also, It would cool have tournaments in your house.

It's all about Burning Heat. That and Trance De Janeiro, but I somehow doubt they'll bother with the licensing required for that. Dangit.

Oh, and an Oni Editor!! Now *that'd* rule.

Six words: 'Only You', 'Telephone Operator', 'Right Now'

Other than that, you probably aren't going to get Extreme songs, but we may get more 'home version only' songs, like Sandstorm to go with Max 2 songs.

Why won't we get Extreme songs? We got some Extreme songs on the first DDR MAX (Cutie Chaser Morning Mix, Dynamite Rave Down Bird Sota Mix, Drop the Bomb System SF Mix, etc.). And on Konamix, even though it was supposed to be 5th-mix based, we still got some somgs from 6th mix (Let the Beat Hit 'Em R&B Style, Look to the Sky, etc.).

So I'd count on at least a few from Extreme - if not the new songs, then at least some of the "new to DDR" songs from Dancemania or other music games.

Konamix == 4th mix ;)

However, I think a few songs from Extreme might actually be likely, though mostly Konami originals, I'm sure. Which is too bad, most of my favorites are still licensed songs...I want my Bye Bye Baby Balloon, dangit!

What I wish for will depend on what I get from ddr max 2 jap...right now, it's sounding like it will be a direct arcade port, which is just fine by me. If that's the case, I won't be purchasing the us release of max2, unless it has quite a few EX songs on it (and even though fall is still a ways off, I'm not holding my breath)

"This mode is difficult!"
Den, all of the songs that you mentioned were either A - on a mix prior to Extreme (like Cutie Chaser Morning Mix, which was on the Club version of DDR back in 2001), or B - created for DDR MAX home version first, and THEN included on Extreme, but only after the home version of it was done. Same for Konamix. The songs mentioned were on previous mixes of Arcade versions. So, I wouldn't rule out Extreme songs, but I would rule out 'new to Extreme' songs such as 'V', 'A', '321 Stars', etc.
