DDRMAX2 for Ps2 - Artists/Song listing

I've never played DDR myself, but this caught my eye while I was surfing around Gamespot this afternoon, and I'd thought I would share it.

This link lists the confirmed artists (and songs) for what I assume is the next release of DDR on Playstation2.

Pinball and Coasters...Any Questions?

Very nice. I'm sure that doesn't include the unlock songs. I like Hysteria... don't know why.

Ghosts, So Deep, Tsugaru, Twilight Zone.. looks pretty good to me. And I KNEW that Heaven song was going to end up in a DDR mix sooner or later.

Also, look at The Whistle Song.. Blow My Whistle BABY?

I don't get it. Half those songs are in the original DDRMAX.

I count seven. That's not quite half.

Actually Jeff, there are 13 repeats. 1 from DDR, 5 from Konamix and 7 from USMax. The hidden songs have yet to be "officially" announced, but based upon several screen shots, it looks like CSFIL will be included, bringing our total repeats to 14.

I'm waiting for the full song list before I pass judgement. Lets just say at this point, I'm a little skeptical.

"This mode is difficult!"

They have Dirty Vegas' Days go Bye! That is my ULTIMATE Amusement park song! I heard the night before and the night of my first Hol;iday World Trip, it is forever ingraved in my heart! I love DDR but I am going to have to save up $400 so I can get all of the games.

He said repeats from Max... so I counted repeats from Max.

I counted 8, but I might be wrong.
Seven, eight if you include "Do It Right"... the remix is on MAX.

I'm probably going to be disappointed, but I was really hoping for a couple of songs from Extreme.

I still don't understand why they taylor these things for American audiences, when it's the original Japanese stuff we're all so fond of.

It's because all the DDR players are going to buy this game no matter what songs are on it. They're trying to attract people who don't play DDR.

I really hope that most of the locked songs aren't the Oni remixes of the MAX2 songs. They have only the heavy difficulty steps, and most of them are lame. With the exception of Silent Hill 3rd Christmas Mix and Hysteria 2001, I could do without all of them.

Love at First Sight + Busy Child = Best DDR Mix to Date.
FYI, there have been a few more songs confirmed by someone "in the know" at ddrfreak.com. Those songs include:

Maxx Unlimited
Burning Heat
Xenon
End of the Century
Vanity Angel
Feeling of Love
Tomorrow's Perfume
More Deep

Maxx was a foregone conclusion, but I'm still pumped about it. I'm most happy about Burning Heat... great song, great steps for all difficulties. Xenon is an awesome song, but the steps are just OK, I think. End of the Century is a repeat from Konamix, but it's a favorite.

I haven't played the other songs. Anyway, this mix is shaping up to be quite excellent, and the inclusion of Xenon indicates that we might get some other songs from DDR Extreme as well.

Yeah, Maxx was a given. Burning Heat is welcome. I don't like Vanity Angel, but I'm ok with it being on the disc since it's not a repeat of another US release. I really like Xenon, but the steps are awful in Extreme. There rest is a wait-n-see list.

I guess we'll find out in a week or so.

Here are the newest updates:

Bad Routine
Can't Stop Fallin' In Love
Celebrate Nite
Kakumei

Never played Bad Routine. I will be super-pissed, however, if they included CSFIL (a good song but a repeat from Konamix) without also including the Speed Mix, which is a very popular song and probably my favorite DDR song of all time.

Celebrate Nite is a repeat. Kakumei - great news, this song is amazing and the steps are really fun... especially the slow/fast beginning. There's a ton of gallops and the ending is chaotic.

I think there's only about 10 songs left to be revealed. So, just assuming that we're not getting any more Extreme songs, I'll hope for:

Dam Dariram
Bye Bye Baby Balloon
Witch Doctor
Waka Laka
Freckles

It kinda frightens me how many of these songs you guys are familiar with. Beyond the home games and a few Extreme songs, I don't recognize these at all.

I'm familiar with more songs 'cause I make an effort to play different songs at the arcade, instead of playing the same songs over and over, like most people do. I've seen Paranoia Survivor and End of the Century and Sakura played 1,000 times at the arcade, but I've never seen anyone but myself play great songs like Twin Bee, 321 Stars or I Do I Do I Do.

If you want to be frightened about something, be frightened with the quickness to which I reply when someone posts in this forum. ;)

RANDOM SIDE NOTE: If you don't recognize Kakumei, I don't blame you... it's listed as a Japanese symbol in DDREx. But you know the tune... it's Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude." Oh, and if you played Nintendo as a kid, you'll recognize Burning Heat as well.

I play Twin Bee and 321 Stars all the time. I'm going to have to go give Burning Heat a try if it's as good as y'all say it is.

I, too, make an effort to play different songs whenever I can. Often, especially when playing a new-to-me machine, I play songs I'm familiar with to start, but I always try to challenge myself on the last song with something new or something difficult.

Yeah, but you don't play in *my* arcades, now do you? ;)

If you like Twin Bee, you'll love Burning Heat.... standard is fun, and heavy is an insane triplet-gallop fest.
