DDRMAX Onis - How are you doing?

I'm a little frustrated with the PS2 version's selection of Oni courses. The reason is that I really want to play this mode, but out of the six choices, two of them contain Rhythm and Police heavy and two of them contain Love This Feelin' heavy. I can pass both of them, but without missing a step? Is that possible?

Well, not for me it isn't. Anyway, I can pass the other two, Lesson Oni and Club Mix (I think that's what it's called - it's the one with all of the "real," non-Konami songs like Sandstorm). This is probably the main reason I can't wait for MAX2, because if it's like the just released Japanese version, it'll have a "build-your-own-Oni" option.

Also, the "endless" option where you can play as long as you can until you lose or pass out... w00t!!1

I was never very impressed with the oni's from Max US because of the lack of variation, and I was quite suprised that they were not included on Jap Max, given the direct arcade port feel to the game.

MAX AC jp didn't have Oni courses.

Just want to "necro" this thread to say that, after months and months (and months) of trying, I have finally passed one of the "hard" Onis in DDRMAX.

It was the 17-song one, I think it's Home Bass? It starts with Cutie Chaser and ends with Drop the Bomb. Even though I'd tried it at least two dozen times, until tonight I'd never gotten past the fourth song, Love This Feelin'. I must have been on tonight - got a 94.0% and had a 1,400 combo going at one point (and remember, it only adds perfects to your combo in Oni mode).

w00t!

Yes.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but a good general rule of thumb is that there will always be someone better than you at whatever you do. *** Edited 3/14/2004 6:38:42 AM UTC by Pop'n Halcali***

Wow... we've had the DDR forum for nearly a year now?

Keeping OT: I haven't done any Oni courses (arcade or home). I'm just not good 'nuff yet...

Thanks for that stunning insight.

1,400 combo? Sheesh, Den...you manchine.

I dunno. Oni courses scare me. Maybe just because of the pressure. The last time i played an oni course i got to about 25%. On the other hand though, that was months ago.

yeah i still step on those stupid arrows... ...so what? >_>
I would like to be referred to as "manchine" exclusively from now on.
