This particular mall (The Kanawha Mall) is let's say, less than exciting (as most of them are nowadays) and has little traffic, even on weekends.
Anyway, I walked by the so-so arcade and low and behold......a brand spankin' new DDR! Mega Mix I believe it was called. Oh HAPPY DAY! :-D
I wanted to cry. I was SO happy! Needless to say I forgot about shopping and sunk about $10 into the machine right away. SWEET!
This is the only DDR machine near me. According to DDR Freak there are now 4 machines in WV, but there SHOULD be more. The next closest machine to me would be about 40 minutes away.
My question is, how many of you live in areas that do not have any arcades/parks with DDR or live in an area where it hasn't quite caught on yet? When I go on my trips the machines seem to be all over the place.......everywhere, especially Ohio and PA.
The PS2 and Xbox versions do not sell as well here as other areas, and I am slowly trying to get people to give it a try.

BTW, Megamix is a bootleg. It's basically just like Extreme, only (I hear) you can't access unlockable songs (like Sakura, Legend of Max or Xenon) and the freeze arrows and menu screens look weird.
Also headed to the beach for the next week, and the local arcade/amusement park has 2 Extreme machines! :)
(BTW, Fantasy Island Amusement Park, Beach Haven NJ)
Oh forgot to say, the nearest machine around is at a GameWorks... so I'm stuck with my PS2. :\ *** Edited 8/28/2004 1:21:22 AM UTC by Rich_Johnson***
New Jersey on the other hand (near Great Adventure) is really sparse. In fact, I don't even know what the closest machine to me it. Anyone know?

At my job they are currently doing a study on DDR and how it affects children's health. I don't know the details but it's a fitness thing they are trying to promote. I told them they should be careful promoting it as "fitness" to kids as most kids seemed to be turned off by that......just let them have fun.
The director of the study bought an Xbox, pad, and the game to try out for herself and she is more addicted than I am now. lol.
Eventually they want to see DDR machines in the schools, YMCA's, and fitness centers all over the state. Now THAT is tax money well spent for once!
Maybe Camden Park will get one as well. ;-)

My metal pad needs some new wires, the internet cafe downtown just had BOTH of it's 1 1/2 month old Cobalt Flux's Broken(BTW, I was going to go there tonight before I found out), and there's no machine within an hour of my house. :(
The good news is that I just found out that the other internet cafe that had(now in storage)a DDR machine is moving to a closer-to-me location. :)
