DCA (05/16/24) & Disneyland (05/17/24)

Well, honestly, the gamification is almost as fun as the trip itself. “If your numbers go up…”

And to riff on the rich/poor thread, if I'm going to be spending $100+ a day to be there and $100+ a day for tickets and I only get one or two days every few years, I'm going to get the most out of my time in park.

About the only thing I understood from that entire post that I admittedly didn't fully read is that I never want to visit Disney.

See, that's what I think is a bummer. Even as a local, I do think they have some genuinely unique and great experiences that are worth it, even if you're not a fan of their IP. But if people see the above enough, I'm sure it scares some of them away.

I was being facetious, I would like to eventually take my family there. Having never been as an adult, I do find the need to plan so much ahead of time daunting and annoying, and not something I particularly want to do before or during a vacation.

Your coaster enthusiast skills of rope dropping and early entry (from staying at a resort) can serve you very well. I’ve never bought Genie at WDW and managed to get on plenty of rides. I just never thought it was worth the hassle and I hate your limited to only one ride on every attraction a day with the system (when Maxpass was happening I would rope drop stuff with long lines I only needed to ride once and got multiple FPs to rides I did enjoy.). I’m probably going to try it at DL just because of the larger roster of rides there. We’ll see how it goes.

Yeah, another thing to mention is our second day at DL we didn’t get G+ at all and got a lot of rides by rope dropping and “not being dumb.” This was mostly an on-the-fly decision because we completely crushed it on our first day. Like I said, the existence of such hacks is mostly academic, as a “non-dumb” G+ strategy is completely sufficient to have an amazing time.

Wow... this was some great info...
Something I may need to print off and read on the plane ride to fully take it all in.

Thanks for the details!
