Day 1, SFWOA trip

Associated parks:
None

I’m going to rate on the old Griswold of WoC scale of +5 to –3. Having +5 exclusively as my favorite coaster, -3 being my last favorite coaster, and 0 meaning that the pain and pleasure derived on this ride cancel out. Well I finally convinced my parents to go on a vacation to Ohio to go to PKI, CP, and SFWOA. This is not an easy task, considering that neither of them are coaster enthusiasts. But I had a lot of fun. SFWOA +2.5

When I entered the park I saw the familiar site of X-Flight, which is a clone of Batwing at my home park. But as I was about to enter the park, and saw the ride closure sign, I noticed that Double Loop and Minderaser were both closed. No biggies, but that would be two less coasters for the Track Record. All in all, it’s a nice park, with virtual walk-ons for every ride. But something I noticed was that they had a religious thing about not running more then one train on any coasters.

Serial Thriller +1 1 lap

Ah the first coaster of the trip. It was a little bit smoother then the Minderaser at SFA, but not much. And it was nice how it had fog at the bottom of the coaster, so I gave it an extra point. There’s plenty of other reviews of SLC’s so I’m not going to spend much time on this one.

Batman: Knight Flight +3 2 laps

After that I moved onto B:KF, I noticed that there was only 3 people sitting in the front, so I grabbed the front. My mom surprisingly was ok with sitting by herself in the second row. The only problem with this coaster is that there is no 0-G roll. Which was my favorite part of Medusa. But oh well, it was nice how there was more track and maneuvers the most Floorless coasters. It was also cool how there was some track before the lift hill.

Big Dipper +1 1 lap

Ah, this coaster was ok, nothing really special, and it was a little rough. But it was ok for a coaster of that age. At least they kept something from when they were Geauga Lake.

S:UE +3.75 5 laps

Then I saw, it the big U. I heard a lot of people that were saying that it’s stupid and boring. But they’re probably just old men who need to learn how to have fun. This coaster was awesome! I liked it more every time I rode it! I think that the spinning sensation is very nice, because it produces some 0-g’s, and it’s fun to see everything spinning. Also the vertical brakes are also pretty cool.

X-Flight +4 1 lap

Eh, this coaster is also at my home park, so I’m not going to spend that much time talking about it. Something I did notice was that it did not recline on the lift hill, but in the station. Also the capacity was horrible, it took about 45 minutes, when the line didn’t even look very long. Oh well, it’s still a great ride.

Raging Wolf Bobs –0.5 1 lap

Ok, this was the only coaster of the trip in the negatives, I just didn’t think that it was that fun and it was rough. So, I’m not going to say much about it.

Villian +2 1 lap

Hmm…this was kind of disappointing for a CCI coaster. I mean it just didn’t thrill me that much, the drops got old, and there wasn’t much force to it. Well it was kind of fun, it did get a +2.

Road Runner +2.5 1 lap

I love these kind of coasters, how the trains are so long that if you sit in the front it will seem like your not even moving at the bottom of the first drop. It also had some nice visuals, and it picked up some nice speed for a kiddie coaster.

Well this trip report is already taken up too much room. So I’m going to add my reports of CP and PKI in different posts.

Dude, this so needs paragraphs.

That said, if you copy and pasted from a word processing program like I have done in the past it seems to remove the line breaks for some reason which I am not sure.

Use the "Edit" link above and you can break this all up.

You silly dude, your'e only food, for the DEMON"

Yeah I agree.

How in the hell though, could you say The Villain is not forceful? That thing keeps its speed from beginning to the very end. No, it's not my favorite ride in the park (X-Flight holds that :) but when someone says its boring I'd just have to disagree. It may not be as good as other CCI's but it IS forceful!

Great trip report. I went sadly on Saturday and had a decent time. I only got on Superman:Ultimate Escape, X-Flight, The Villain, and Roadrunner's with my 5 and 7 year old nephews. I stayed there all day and only got on those rides. The park was packed, I waited 2 and a half hours for X-Flight because they were running one train(worth the wait). I didn't ride Batman, Serial Thriller and all the others which makes me mad. The employees are extremely rude though.

Oh sorry, I thought I put them in, I copy and pasted from Microsoft Word, I didn't realize that there wouldn't be paragraphs, well off to edited...

jw, where did you sit on Villain?

It's smooth and fast in the front, and wild in the back, but just a sub-par coaster in the middle. Also Big Dipper got really bad after CCI messed with it. That is quite possibly the worst thing CCI has ever done.
