Darien Lake investing $5 million for new rides and shows

Three new rides will go in the children’s area to be called Rowdy’s Ridge. The area will be near Grizzly Run and Ranger near a location formerly known as the “Tiny Trio” area, the park said in a Facebook post. The parks will also add shows and new cabins.

Unfortunately that $5 million won't include any lighting for the Giant Wheel. What used to be the park's trademark and centerpiece has been dark several years now. It's a shame. Look at the buzz created by Cedar Point putting a new LED package on their wheel. Darien Lake is really missing an obvious upgrade here. I've been of the opinion that the park really needs a coat of paint and some lighting work, it looks run down...
But then again, what do I know?
10 million wouldn't be enough to fix that place. I've never seen such a rag-tag park in my life.
(Of course, I've never been to Nepal...:) )
Oh, it's not that bad. Adding landscaping and getting rid of too many chain link fences would be a good start.
